Keep in mind that the features we cover here are only a small percentage of the
features that we offer. Here we're focusing on the "standard" features of
community hosting packages, such as forums, polls, events, and rostering. There
are over 40 different types of content you can have on your guild pages,
and we're adding more all the time!
Community Management

it is displayed using the Community Control Panel, a fast, dependable and
user-friendly web application that runs on IE, Mozilla, Opera and most
updated browsers.

Edit existing pages, delete existing ones, modify sort order and name. No limit
to the number of pages, or to the amount of content available on each page. *

Specify whether a page is viewable by the general Public, Associates, Members
Only, or Officers only.

Three product pricing options: Free, $30 every 6 months, or $45 every 6 months
(higher price is for guilds who want subdomains, such as
myguild.guildportal.com). Base paid product works out to $5 per month --
try beating that with GuildPortal's functionality!

No hidden charges, no bandwith metering. Whether
your guild has 60 or 600 members, you pay the same price.

No "community chest" that keeps extra funds for itself.

While charges are handled by PayPal and are re-occuring every six months,
if your guild is no longer active and you forgot about the re-occuring charges,
we will refund your most recent payment if your request is made
within a week of the charge going through.

Forum Features
-
Images indicate whether a forum has had new topics or replies added since the
user last visited the forum. Features "Next Unread," "Mark All Read," and
other features you expect from a stand-alone foruming system.

Security is by guild security level, being Public, Associates, Members, and
Officers Only. People who do not have the proper rights to participate in a
forum do not see the forum listed.

Extended Security
allows for Guild Administrators to specify that certain users may have access
to moderate individual forums, without giving them administrative rights to
other areas of the site. *

Forum View shows forum titles, descriptions, topic count, post count, date/time
of last post, and name of last poster. Also displayed are the most recent five
posts, making navigating to the newest posts easy.

Topics and all associated replies can be moved to a different forum with two
clicks.

Topics can be made sticky, meaning that regardless of activity, they
will always appear first in the sort order of all topics for a forum.

Topics can be locked, meaning no replies can be added to it after
the initial post.
-
Topics that are hot, meaning they have a certain number of replies or greater,
get a "burning folder" icon.
-
Topics track the last reply and the last view for the current user, showing
different icons for topics that are either new or have new replies since the
last time the user viewed them.

Posts show the user name, their "title" as assigned by guild administrators,
the number of posts that the user has made on guild forums, their
"participation rating", and customizable rank images based upon how
many posts they've made.

Posts are editable by the poster or forum moderators.
-
Thumbnail images appear under the name of the poster.
-
Signatures appear under the body of posts based upon the poster's settings.
-
A "mail" icon appears next to the user's name and, when clicked, incorporates
the messaging system to provide an easy way to send private messages to members
of a guild.

Forum Pruning
allows forum administrators to remove topics that have been inactive for a
specified number of months.

Mark all Topics Read lets users single-click to mark all topics within a given
forum read.

Share selected forums with other guilds in your alliance!
Voting Features
-
Voting polls are truly stand-alone, meaning you do not need to bury them inside
a forum post.

People can comment on the polls available, if they have the access to see and
vote on them. *

Polls can be set to allow votes/viewing by the Public, Associates, Members
Only, or Officer Only.
-
Results are visible from the poll itself, and a pie chart is available
from each poll to provide a graphical representation of the results.

Once a poll has closed (meaning the Close Date has passed), the winning poll
choice is displayed on the main Voting Polls screen.
Web-Based Mail
-
Tight integration with most other sections of the site. In most areas, if you
see a user's name, there's an icon next to it that you can click on to send a
private message.

New mail notification at the top of all guild pages, with a flashing icon
indicating when you have new mail waiting.

Inbox
shows all mail waiting for you, with icons showing whether you've read each
message, a subject header, who it was from, and when it was sent.

Sent Items
shows messages you've sent that haven't been deleted. Messages indicate whether
the person you sent it to has read it yet and, if so, when they read it.

Custom Folders help keep your messages organized.
-
Address Book
shows all members of all guilds that you're a member of, providing a central
location to send web-based mail.

Checkboxes next to each item and a "delete selected" button to make cleaning up
your mailbox easy.
Events Management

Events set to Public, Associates, Members Only, or Officers Only to
view/attend/sign-up.
-
Date/Time appear to the user based upon their time zone settings, showing them
at what time the event occurs by their time zone.

Attendance level allows event administrators to specify five levels of
participation requirements, ranging from totally optional to mandatory
attendance.

Tight integration with the game your guild plays, allowing events to be
associated with zones, or areas, within the game your guild plays.
If available, links to external systems with maps for the locations are
provided!

Event Sign-up, allowing participants to specify ahead of time
whether they will be attending the event, giving event coordinators/raid
leaders a good idea of the balance of people they'll have available for a given
event.

Event/Raid Points, giving event administrators the ability to reward
points for attending events. Integrated with the Bank content type to
manage awarding items based upon raid point standings. This system is
totally optional, and does not
require that your guild implement a raid point/DKP system.

Share events with allied guilds
also using us to host their guild's site.

Commenting available for members that have access to view the event. *
Community Participation Rewards

Graphical indicators for people who participate regularly, encouraging your
members to stay active on your site and keep up on guild happenings.

activities. Can be reset at any time the administrators decide to "level the
playing field."

Quest Tracking

Quest categories custom to the game your guild plays.

Specify title, category, and what the reward is for completing the quest.

summary and full walk-through.
