The Rangers of Evendim
Enter the Mines of Moria.......
Located on Vilya server...
Annúminas, the city of the Kings of Arnor, on the shores of Lake Evendim (also known Nenuial). The city was founded by Elendil himself, on the shores of the northern lake Nenuial, near the sources of the Baranduin. It was the chief city of the Kings of Arnor for several centuries, and home to one of the three palantíri of the North-Kingdom.
The city survived for nearly a thousand years. In the early days of Arnor, it must have been one of the glories of Middle-earth. Soon after its founding, though, the numbers of the Dúnedain of the North began to dwindle. The population of Annúminas seems to have fallen throughout its history, until eventually it was deserted, and the Kings removed to Fornost to the east.
We men and women of the West, the Dúnedain, The Rangers of Evendim, descendants of Kings, now roam in small groups, with our Elf, Dwarf and Hobbit companions throughout Eriador in the Third age, and most recently called to the Mines of Moria. We know our home is among the great ruins of Annúminas, now a dangerous place to roam as the Witch King has turned his attention to the rumors of great wealth still hidden amongst the ruins. We have hope that great glory will return some day soon.

Many things going live with the push tonight:
- The library content editor bug that would display a blank page when trying to add an article has been fixed.
- Pop-up dialogs in the forums have been disabled by default. Since the editor has trouble when there are certain types of custom javascript, it will now instead load inside an iframe instead. It should be transparent to your users as it was before, without the interfering javascript problems. At the user's option, however, the dialogs can be re-enabled by checking a box in the Forum Tools drop-down.
- The posting buttons (reply, quote, edit, delete) have had some padding added to the top to give them a little breathing room. Previously, they would appear flush to the bottom of signature images. The technical term for this anomaly is "scrunchy."
- Added two new classes for the custom CSS gurus out there: quoteContainer and quoteBody. They are the wrappers around quoted text inside forum posts.

We believe that the Operation Aborted error thrown by Internet Explorer was related to the Google Analytics script. We have removed the script from all pages. If this does not resolve the issue for you, please let us know! Also, the size of the port number for voice chat server status has been increased (was set to 4 characters, oops!).

Last night's code push included a change to how the posting dialog renders, which should help avoid any conflicts with possibly problematic custom CSS and/or Javascript that might be in use by any guild site.

First, tonight's push includes a new selection under the "In Beta" area of the Control Panel, which allows you to provide your own custom HTML for the body of all pages on your site. Next, we've addressed some bugs that have been reported concerning the editor (sorry folks, looks like we were wrong about it being a cookies issue). Info sections have also had a bug fixed.

The new chat room is finally fully operational and we believe most of the quirky behavior some are seeing in the new editor control are related to old cookies. Try clearing those out (especially in FireFox -- grrr) and if you still have trouble, let us know via support ticket, please.

Lord of the Rings Online guilds will notice a few new features that went along with the editor push tonight. Namely, guild rosters now load directly from Turbine's servers, and the editor (when posting) has a "One Ring" icon that, when clicked, helps you add links to LOTRO-related goodies. The roster will load from Turbine's servers only if there is an exact match for your guild name and the server you selected when you started the guild. If either are incorrect, they can be modified in the Control Panel under Guild Name and Server. LOTRO Integration can be disabled/re-enabled in the Control Panel as well, under LOTRO Integration.

We will be deploying the latest version of the WYSIWYG editor later today. It will resolve issues with IE 8, and has a few neat things that we can do with it, moving forward. We are testing it in the latest versions of all browsers, and also ensuring compatibility with a version back, where feasible. For some browsers with rapid release schedules (like Firefox), please ensure you have auto-updates configured.
