The Order of the Silver Serpent is an Ultima Online roleplaying guild. We believe that we can enjoy the game more by taking on a role within the game world, just as an actor would on stage, and then act out that role in a variety of settings, be it in the warmth of a local tavern, the depths of the darkest dungeon or against our fiercest foes.

OSS takes it's roleplay directly from the lore established by Richard Garriot, aka Lord British from the Ultima games. In the series, the OSS was Lord British's guard in Serpent's Hold, and oversaw the training of Britannia's knights. We try to stay true to this history and have a highly militaristic guild structure with an emphasis on the Eight Virtues to guide our philosophical and political decisions in the game.

OSS is split into two stones - our main stone for the majority of our membership (this stone is Britannian Militia aligned and hence is openly hostile and open to attack to and from a wide range of guilds), and our crafting stone where we operate 'the Royal Armory', our sub-guild of roleplayed mechanical crafting golems which serve the Order and arouse the curiosity of Britannians all over.
