After the destruction the Rikti caused with their cross dimensional war, and the influx of new threats from other realities, a specialized force was needed to combat these threats. Malcalypse, a Saint of Eris (Goddess of Discordia) and a cross-dimensional traveler himself, belonged to an unofficial league of Reality Defenders called the "Storm Knights". Baron Rufus, a veteran hero in this Reality, decided that this would be his new role in Paragon City, and the Storm Knights (Local 23) were born. Accepting members from this reality and others, the Storm Knights (Local 23) will defend Paragon City from all threats; local, national, galactic, and cross-dimensional.
