Blood Meridian - World of Warcraft Raiding Guild

Blood Meridian is a Horde raiding guild on the European Argent Dawn World of Warcraft Server.

We are a guild designed for mature players who want to instance, raid, PvP and RP together. We are PvE focussed, but we have room for guild PvP and RP activity too. Our average member will be happy to play late UK time (to 12:30 server or so at least some of the time) and play their primary character about 10-20 hours per week. We want members who are proactive in helping to organise guild activities, and who will participate in them.

Blood Meridian is a small, close-knit guild community, and we hope that our members will come to feel that their closest allies in game are found in the guild. We allow a maximum of about 50 members at any one time, with up to 3 per class (I.e. total 27) being core raiders.

The guild was formed from a group of friends who met online, with a few real life friendships/family relations in the mix too (yeah those aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive!). Many (but not all by any means) of us are from the UK, and we tend to play “late” in terms of server time because of this.

Between us, we’ve been members of 4 raid groups on this server (alliance and horde), organising one of them, and have variable raid experience from MC/start of BWL only through to early Naxx. Several of us have been raid leaders, guild officers or guildmasters in the past, and have enjoyed the experience (most of the time!).

URGENT!! - ACTION REQUIRED

Kantaru, Apr 25, 07 10:15 AM.
Remove the KTM addon as soon as possible.
After much gnashing of teeth and the like we spoke to a Blizz rep and they have informed us that the KTM Threat Metre Addon has been compromised and was the chink in the armour.

There is a Trojan within the program itself and is keylogging passwords and information and relaying it on to an unknown party which is still being investigated.

So until we can definitely vouchsafe the program I would advise you remove the bugger until then.

General Account Warning

Kantaru, Apr 20, 07 4:30 AM.
At around 10 am on the 20th of April, Ysenth and Kaels accounts were compromised, this is under investigation by the Blizzard team but until the problem is resolved we will be out of action.

To maintain your account security make sure to keep your password safe and secret, do not approve any unsigned or suspect activeX controls or aspects of any website you find suspicious. Change your password regularly and don't run with scissors.

Heroic Adding Machine Smashing

538543597_Inactive, Apr 11, 07 12:36 PM.
Last night we added to our list of heroic endbosses downed, by taking out Pathaleon the Calculator on our very first try of heroic mechanaar.

A great instance run all round, with a particularly fun new look Capacitus.

Special mention goes to Decompose for raising the bar on deadly blows with a 61,000 point hit on Capacitus.  Ok so we were ruthlessly taking advantage of a buff effect of the boss at the time.....but even so!

April Guild News - Looking Forward

538543597_Inactive, Apr 7, 07 6:34 PM.
Our rapid progression and recruiting into key classes has opened up some great possibilities for the coming month.

Highpoints of April should include:

  • Defeating the shade of Aran.  This is a key Karazhan fight, requiring flawless execution but opening up Karazhan to being cleared very rapidly.  All of the Karazhan library trash only respawns while the shade is alive, so once defeated any and all of the remaining bosses are open to assault.
  • Continued recruitment at our careful, considered pace.  As usual we primarily recruit people, not characters, so anyone who matches the skills and ethos of the guild is welcome to apply.  That said, in order to fine tune class balance, the following following roles are currently considered "red-hot" application opportunities:
    • Warlock (possibly 2 spots available)
    • Holy Paladin
    • Shaman (possibly 2 spots available)
    • Priest
  • Simultaneous Karazhan runs - for the next few weeks our Karazhan raids will focus on progression, rotating guild members for particular drops and success in particular encounters.  We are very keen to begin running twin Karazhan runs, but not at the cost of a lack of progression for either, or both, groups.  Once we branch into simultaneous runs it will be very much on a "two winning teams on the night" model, rather than having fixed teams, or an "A" team and a "B" team, in terms of skills and experience.
  • Gruul's lair - we're on the doorstep of fielding a serious Gruul's lair raid, and should be pitching up to be savagely beaten by a large gronn, very shortly.  For our early Gruul attempts consumables are going to be key, so heavy resource gathering in the coming weeks is very much a priority.

April Guild News - Looking Back

538543597_Inactive, Apr 7, 07 5:57 PM.
We've seen fantastic progression in March and early April:

  • Rapid, steady progress through Karazhan.  The curator defeated on our second try, opening up the second tier of Karazhan bosses.  Last raid saw four bosses defeated in a single raid.
  • Steady levelling of guild members, especially among those who have moved over to new main character classes - 24 out of our 26 member's main characters are now level 70.
  • Widespread success in heroic instances, with final boss kills in Steamvaults, Slavepens, Auchenai Crypts, Underbog and Setthek halls.
  • Steady recruitment of great players who have the skills, personality and teamwork to fit into the guild.  We've made great strides in balancing up our classes (more tanks!) giving us the opportunity to field far more instance runs simultaneously.
  • Belittling guildmates hit an all time high, with 37,436 humourous asides at the expense of your companions recorded for March.  Notable high scoring snubs were:
    • Cruelly ridiculing Surush's sublithic intellect (14,146)
    • Cackling over Decompose's fatal aggro (8,515)
    • Critiquing Ysenth's chest in an assortment of revealing outifits (4,173)
    • Drawing slanderous associations connecting the decline in the gnome population and the movements of one Laolao Tzetze Tungtung (3,151)
    • Highlighting Starcrazy's inability to produce fruit (2,125)
