Wotcha everyone,

For me, it's the campfire in The Trollshaws with three Troll statues around it.

Such a wonderful reminder of being 11 years old, and being introduced to The Hobbit.  My favourite place just to sit in.

Cheers,
Hawley.

There is a spot overlooking Starmere Lakes that I enjoy with pleasant company and the accompaniment of starlight.

Also a spot overlooking Lake Evendim.  Ditto to the company and starlight.

Nicest places pre-Moria : Evendim and Trollshaws
Nicest places in Moria : the south areas (silvertine lodes, waterworks, redhorn lodes)  + great delving (amazing level design this one !)

These zones all share a certain complexity in their design which appeals to the exploration. That's why these zones are also hard to navigate for quests.

Dullest zone ever : lone lands.

Ah, now I like the Lonelands ..... it's meant to be bleak and desolate. And there is a real beauty about the light at certain times of day.

I don't get on at all with Evendim ... big expanse of water and not much else

Favourite areas visually are probably the ride through western Trollshaws, southern Forochel, Last Homely House, Moria WaterWorks, down by the river in Shire Homesteads, and any of the houses in Falathlorn homestead, love that elven architecture.

Musically I love the bit just outside Esteldin with the clarinet duet and also the bit in The Rift as you are crossing the bridge to the encounter with the Balrog. (I always make sure to turn my sound on in these places!) There are lots of other lovely musical moments but I need to revisit them to remind myself exactly where they are.

I forgot about the Trollshaws!! Thats another favourite. Again, stunning scenery and beautiful music! Been through there many times on one of "my run as fast as you can to try and get to Rivendell for a quick look around" adventures! Never made it past that cliff at the end though!

Another favourite bit of music is as you cross the bridge to leave The Shire to enter Bree land.

So many places and magical moments....

Approaching the Last Homely House for the first time, without doubt the most beautiful place I found in any online game;

Sitting beside Lake Evendim on Tinnudir watching the sun rise and reflect over the water.....enchanting;

Standing outside Suri-Kyla in Forochel as the sun sets...alone at the top of the world;

Stopping at the threshhold of Moria for the first time with the music cutting in...goosebumps and I did not move for a long time;

Looking through the stone archway over The Waterworks as you first enter...breathtaking;

.....so much pleasure, but then I am a big romantic for Middle Earth.

I have to say I love the Misty Mountains. I think I have said it a number of times.
The Shire would probably come close though and I'm with Kilrandir about the approach to Rivendell. The first time, it really did knock me back.

I'm rather fond of Forochel too.

That sounds nice. Whereabouts is that?
