Even without the 'reforged' prefix, it wouldn't bother me too much. I'd just imagine it as 'in the style of' or 'of a similar quality to' real 2nd Age items.

Starting from scratch, you can get 6 gold leaves a day from the crafting instances (which could be exchanged for 2x190k iXP and 1x70k?).

AFAIK, a full sweep of the crafting instances will get you 18 barter tokens, and these can be exchanged for 1x190k heritage rune. Are you saying that it's possible to barter to gold leaves and then to runes for more IXP?

Ok, I'll let this one slide, but this bastard son of a gay elf who lives in a hobbit hole is watching you, Turbine. Capiche?

Sorry: bad writing on my part. 45 tokens could be exchanged for 15 gold leaves, needed to go to the Elves. Instead, you could exchange them (as two 18s and a 9) for 3 runes, of a total of 450 iXP.

(I'm guessing about 9 getting exchanged for 70iXP, btw. It's probably in that area.)

Also, about time they introduced 2nd Age crafted recipes! Let's see if Elak is right that it will destroy the game

Destroying the game would have been to allow first age to be crafted not 2nd age. My point is that you can't allow crafter to make as good equipment as you would be able to get from raids and hard mode instances.

Because the content isn't sufficiently entertaining that it has to require the incentive of loot to ensure that people bother with it?

The day that someone makes an AAA MMORPG that actively askews the typical achiever mentality is the day I'll be a truly happy MMORPG player.

well judging by the past you have a week or two to do as levin suggested and get WW and HOM out of the way.

WW is certainly doable over an evening or two. HOM is a bit more of a grind but if you really put your mind to it, two evenings should be enough too.

I need to do two more HOM runs with Juli and Asmir and I need four runs with WW for Asmir if someone wants to join me for that.

I'l be looking through the legendary crafting a bit. I'm inclined to think the reforging of 2nd age weapons shouldn't be a game spoiler. What they do about 1st age on the next expansion should be interesting though.

As long as crafted equipment was comparable, like it was in SoA, I'd be happy. The more ways to get gear, that lets you try all of the content, the better. And it shouldn't be beyond Turbine's creative powers to come up with a system where crafting a great weapon was every bit as much of a satisfying achievement as killing a raid boss, if you were that way inclined.

If they introduce Legendary Years of the Trees items to compensate, I will not be happy!

Lets face it you have to have incentive throughout the life time of your character in an MMO or you would eventually stop logging in.  Obviously your achievements and incentive Levin are exploring new content and beating challenges. Ultimately it is still incentive though it just takes a slightly different form.

I agree with Elak you can't have crafting providing the ability to make the same level of weapons you would get from a DN run.  That kind of thing would just marginalise DN and you'd find less and less people running it.

All these moves from Turbine are building you all up for a change in level cap and change in LI level cap as well.  Just as you think you have finally got that great item, BANG, go back to square one ;-)

Still it is good news for weapon crafters and to be honest about time they brought crafting back up to have some value.  I hope they will do this for all crafts and learn from this mistake so that they do not make it again in Rohan.

I'm not sure they need to increase the difficulty for the smaller instances because they are already a major grind as it is. I'm not sure there is value in further increasing the steepness of that curve.
