This time of year most of my days start around 7am so if I dont make itto bed by 3:30-4:00 am I call it wash and stay up I've done like 36-40hours with no sleep but then things get rough the last 6 of that wasplaying a round of golf too so I was hurting by the time I gothome.

There actuly are a couple of studys out there that show pepole who workthe late night shifts have more health problems.  Mainly becuseyour body is preprogramed to be awake when the suns up and asleep whenits not.  So sleeping during the day is much less restfull becuseyour bodys confused.  In time you can become aclimated to it butyour body will never completly catch on.

For Smoke:  I just saw a study a few weeks ago that linked healthproblems to shift workers.  Not exaclty night shift, but those whowork 2 weeks nights, 2 week days and 2 week swings.  That sort ofthing. What caught me as odd was the problems they listed includedathsma and diabetes.  I would think it would have been more likeheadaches, and eye problems and the like.

For Paz... shut it   I actually wondered what sort ofcomments (if any) would follow, when the rest of you day walkers wokeup.

For Pain:  My laptop is an 850 Mhz with 4 megs of shared ram forvideo.  I installed COH on it at the the start up program sent meamessage saying bacically, "you're joking right?  Try again whenyou get a real viseao card."  The computer is so small overallthat it has no onboard drives, one PCMCIA slot and one USB.

Also the connection there is twitchy.  I get messages from thedialup service asking if I want to connect, click again and itworks.  I bet I'd get about a mapsever every other minute.

And the third reason...  While I have no ethical proplems making awebsite for the game at work.  I just couldn't bring myself toactually play one there.  Even a non internet one.  I've beentemped to try the eveil path through Arcanum but it just feels toowrong.  So much for beign evil I guess.

I'm such a slacker.  I'm supposed to start my day by 8:30.  This morning I woke up about 9:00ish.  Got to my first call by oh.....10:30 at the earliest.  Skipped lunch and finished off my calls by 2:30.  Went home and called it a day.  I'm very spoiled.  If I had to sit in an office I would probably be surfing the net and taking coffee breaks, but with my job I can cut all the down time out, finish my work and be done.  About 4 hours of actual work in an 8 hour day.  Now that I think about it, starting at 8:30 I would have been done by 12:30, but I am so not a morning person.

As for you night people, when I was in the Navy I would have to stand a rotating watch in ship's combat which would force me to sit in the dark for 6 hours in the middle of the night without doing anything but staring at a nonmoving screen.  A lot of pacing, consuming mass quantities of caffeine, chatting with anybody, or just writing in the watch journal (extremely wacky and insane writing)  were the only things that could keep you awake.  (we weren't allowed to read or play games- filthy communists)

I sugest going around the office and colecting dust bunnies from behindthe othere pepoles desks.  If you get enough you can name them anddo "Dust Bunny Theater." That would be pretty entertaining.

I would but I can't.  Gotta stay in the NOC at all times unless someone can cover for me for like 15 mins.
