Mischief and Mayhem Podcast is hosting another writing contest. These contests are a way to encourage role-players to write some of their ideas in story format. Beginning writers are more than welcome to enter!
Down Memory LaneThe early sections of the World of Warcraft are usuallyrushed through, especially if you have “been there, done that” before. Manypeople take the time to think about their character’s story, but notnecessarily how their character reacts to those kobolds and grells and vilefamiliars.
Think about your character now. Now, he is scared ofnothing! That cave that held those nasty things is child’s play to him now. Amere wave of his hand, and those Rattlecage Skeletons are nothing but a pile ofbones.
Take a walk down Memory Lane: how did your character reactto those early quests? If you didn’t think about it at the time, think about itnow. How would he have felt facing those early foes? Remember, he was notinvincible at the time. Very little gear, little training, perhaps even littleexperience (if you have never played that class before).
Pick one of the following quests, based on your startingarea, and write a story about your character completing the task. Notnecessarily an accurate account of what did happen, but a story about thecharacter and his thoughts and feelings and experiences.
Ellwynn Forest: The Jasperlode Mine.
Dun Morogh: Grizzled Den : Wendigo Manes
Teldrassil: Twisted Hatred : the head of Melenas
Azuremyst: Search Stillpine Hold
Durotar: Thwarting Kolkar Aggression
