The Knights Templar that play World of Warcraft today started out as a group of friends on the Dark Age of Camelot Server Bedevere, We played the Albion realm there from the inception of the game in November of 2000 until the commercial release of World of Warcraft in November of 2004. At that time it was decided to move to World of Warcraft and recreate the guild there. Our current membership is nearing 150 plus accounts with nearly 400 characters as of September 2005.
The Knights Templar is a friendly and family oriented guild. Our membership consists of close group of people that have a history of over the course of four years had family members and close friends join the guild. We cover at least three generations for some families with the grandparents, parents and children all playing.
Our preferred method for recruitment is to bring in real life friends and family and add them to the guild. We have added several new faces with the introduction of World of Warcraft and hope to continue to grow and strengthen the bonds between our members.
The goal of the guild is to provide a fun and entertaining way to break away from reality. Our primary purpose is to enjoy the game and the time we spend online together.
We are a growing guild that is also aging and that means that end game content and high end instance runs will be formed and led. We have developed a point system for loot distribution. This will be used for any raid of 20 or more folks. Our members are also encouraged to group amongst themselves with other KT to form group runs and 10/15 man runs into the various instances to further improve their grouping abilities, better acquaint themselves with other guild members and overall have fun!
We encourage all of our members to be self sufficient and be able to level their toon on their own. We offer various crafters of all levels to assist you in better equipping your toon. We also offer a good number of folks at varying age and level ranges to meet the needs and playstyles of most gamers.
Who We Are Not
We are not a guild of hand outs, if you can not find your way out of Stormwind on your own then perhaps you had best spend some time looking at the overhead map before you consider joining KT. We offer as much assistance as we can but we do require our members to be able to fend for themselves and to utilize the tools provided on the web site to find the answers.
We do not tolerate any beggars, if you are caught begging you will automatically be removed from the guild. We also do not tolerate loot ninjas, if your idea of a good group is to kill boss A and then quickly steal all of the loot before it can be distributed this will result in an immediate removal from the guild.
KT prides itself on playing nice with the folks around them, this means we discourage kill stealing and name calling. There are lots of places to hunt, polite ways to hunt and better ways to handle people then by insulting them.
Hey there,
I wanted to start off on congratulating the raid team on moving Molten Core to farm status. Great work everyone!
This means that the repair bills begin again with the introduction of Black Wing Lair. Expect to see both Theo and I running the attunement raids to help everyone get sorted out.
Due to our size we have decided to bring in two new officers and one new elder to spread out the workload. I want to congratulate Aurik and Dorkborg on their promotions to officer and congratulations to Feadraug on promotion to elder. I would ask that the three players mentioned above post a little about themselves as a reply to this thread.
Theo will be concentrating on his duties as raid general and guild bank, which means his members have been re-assigned into the pool. The officers will be sending out in-game contact emails to you all to ensure you know your first point of contact within the game.
The recent officer meeting brought about some fresh ideas. The first one is the introduction of a bonus raid point to those that attend calendar events. In order to qualify for the point you must attend the event for a minimum of one hour, be at a minimum level 40 and the event must be clearly marked on the calendar. The result of this will be to provide more incentive to work within the team, give points to the folks coming up the ranks and get folks help on the sub 60 instances. As a secondary bonus you start getting points to spend when you finally do hit 60 and get to see the large raid instances.
This will be open to all events slated on the calendar and the responsibility of submitting the list of attendees will be up to the group/raid leader.
Since MC, ZG and Onyxia have all been declared farm status; the maximum points gained for attending those raids has been fixed and will be posted.
One last exciting topic to bring up is the new monthly repair and level 40 and 60 mount lottos. It would appear that the officers will get their first look at the system in the first week of August and it should be ready to go into effect by the second week of August with the first winners announced at the end of August 2006. There will be more information posted, once the details have been finalized.
That’s all for now folks!
Once again great work and congratulations to you all.
