From this simple Village, a band of Bold and Heroic folk will venture forth with plans to prevail. The glorious battles of Al'Kabor are fought across the landscape of Norrath. Be it Dragons and Giants, Trolls and Froglocks, Humans and Orcs, or Fier'Dal and Tier'Dal battling over their rights to rule their lands, all will have a chance to alter the course of the future. You may do so via combat or more subtle quests. Each will help you reach lofty progressions, unveiling more sinister evils needing to be thwarted by you and your battle ready group. Perhaps you will need to assemble numerous groups, and lead them into battle as a raid general. Only the mighty can lead such a cause. Those who would challenge the power of some of the many Gods of our world are not just names from bedtime fables, for their lofty acheivements can be heard of in the tales sung by our bards. Will your name be woven into such tales?
The Keepers welcome you to a beautiful Village, where everything is bright and cheerful - the people, their clothes, the buildings, the flowers. But despite this rosey exterior, the Village serves a sinister purpose.
Valuable knowledge is protected or extracted. Village residents are assigned a number - the Prisoner is Number Six. Chief interrogator and administrator is Number Two, but he isn't the boss - an unseen Number One is the boss. Failure is not tolerated in the Village, and most episodes feature a new Number Two, though some are privileged to return for a second chance to break Number Six and discover why he resigned. The Prisoner struggles to keep this information from his captors and to find out which side runs the Village and where it is. He strives to discover the identity of Number One, and above all, he attempts to escape.
Resigning from his post, Number 6 (for no one knows his past life's given name) is drugged and incarcerated in The Village, a strange un-wordly place presided over by various Number 2's. Here he must accomplish the many quests set before him in order to survive.
Number 6 would try to prove that he wasn't a number, but a free man and attempt to escape - and he would be thwarted by Number 2 and 'Rover', a mysterious guard being, over and over again.
But where was the Village, who was Number 6, or indeed Number 2?
