Long ago in the world of Istaria, on the shard of Bounty, there were many guilds. Among these was an all dragon guild called Order Of Ancients. The dragons of this guild had many friends among the biped races of Istaria. These people formed their own guild and called it Fellowship of Ancients. The two guilds worked in partnership, each helping the other, and even formed their own chat channel which they called Chat Group of the Alliance, (CGOA for short) so that they could all chat together.

In another part of Istaria, a group of both dragons and bipeds had joined together to form their own guild called Rising Phoenix. There came a day when Rising Phoenix asked if they too could join OoA and FoA and thus was formed the group known simply as the Alliance.

All three guilds maintained their independence, with their own rules and guidelines, but members of all the guilds worked together, helping each other equally.

This arrangement worked well for hundreds of years, but the land of Istaria was changing. The shard of Bounty was over-run by the Withered Aegis (click the link on the left to see pictures of the destruction of Bounty) and the people were forced to flee to a new shard, the shard of Chaos.  The face of Istaria changed.  The world was divided into tiered areas, and resources and monsters became native to certain areas. New towns were built and new monsters appeared to attack unwary travellers.

Many Istarians left for other worlds, including members of the Alliance guilds and it became more difficult for the guilds to share supplies with each other.

One day the decision was made to merge the three guilds into one new guild and thus the The Alliance was born.
