Let me know what you guys think we should build over there. Here are a few ideas I'm playing around this:

-Grim Ichor. Right now it seems that of the officers only Grim Ichor (the character) will be ported as the same person with intact memories. The Next Gen of this new timeline could be founded her.  For all intends and purposes Grim (the player) has run Next Gen for a long time now. While I was perfectly fine to rest on my work in creating NG and playing a mediator/figurehead role I think Grim more than deserves to officially be the leader of Next Gen after all this time. To me this seems appropriate both IC and OOC.

-No uniforms?: The Champions settign and story encourage a more campy and colorfull  approach to comics and it is worth considering doing a version of the group based costumed X-Men and not the more orginazed style NG had. That would also invite a more liberal use of codenames and such.

-A color change?: If we do keep the uniforms it could be worth considering using a more intense and brighter color combination to go with the changed look of the world.

-Keeping the style?: Grim allrady made a first suggestions for a version based on our current uniform. Gotta say I LOVE that N-Logo. I'll be playing around with options there too. Do the same peeps and let us know what you think.

-Less conflict with humanity: Champions seem to be world in which superpowers are seen in a very oldschool heroic way. Next Gen could exist less to keep a war from happening (would still be a point but not an immedaite threat) but more to teach young mutants to be heroes and keep them from being killed or turned by the supervillains.

-The Infinity Watch: Another SG, a wing of NG? A rename? A group dedicated on preventing another critical shift in reality because it might not be able to take it? The offenders become the guardians of the timeline, taking over for Ouroboros with a more aggresive stance on things.

Think those are enough random ideas from me right now. Discuss and feel free to throw rotten vegetables.

I have a few ideas as well

-What if this could be the future version and/or alternate dimension version of Next Gen

-We could have characters who are similar to the Next Gen SG from CoH

-We could also have a unified color scheme, with outfits looking similar to X-Men/ Next-Gen

-I would say that we could have several ideas for bases, if so we could have several locations with allies.

-We could also tweak the role of the SG just a little bit, sort of a school to teach young mutants, as well as avoiding a future war.

-The Infinity Watch, I would say with a little work that could be a branch of Next Gen, maybe caling it something along the lines of a mutant school.

- Just restating it could be a future version of Next Gen or even separate dimension with slight modifications to the NeXt team. I was planning on Axe-Claw not having the robotic arm or even be more animalistic. Maybe the Night Avenger set would work for a more human Axel Ledger. But if you guys want to have him as more of the Beast role, let me know.

It seems to me that, at the very least, there would copied heroes in an alternate reality. It also makes sense that if people wanted, their characters could escape to the Champions universe via Portal Corps...

I would normaly agree with the refugee idea but considering that no matter what you do your character will have completly different powers and look completly different I don't see it working.
If they change with the world they are also still there but at least have a reason for it. We know how Portal Corps work.
The places on the other side look like Paragon. You look like you do in Paragon. Your powers work like in Paragon. That is not what is going to happen here. The difference between the two games is as big as switching from a real time series to animé.This
is not just Paragon Ending. The Rikti will go, Praetoria will go.
If I had to explain it I would say the timeline of a whole cluster of dimensions, every thing that is even remotely connected vanishes or changes.

What I find sad is that the bases (now hideouts) only hold up to 10 people, unlike the SG bases in City of Heroes. That will take some getting used to.

Appearantly they are working on SG bases too. If that happens we have the best of both worlds.

Edit:

Couldn't resist trying to make a uniform suggestion too. I'm not sure I found the same chest symbol. I would take the same as Grim.

as you are all probably aware of we have already made Next-Gen in CO , so far we have a few people in it already who were both in city of 's version of Next Gen and some of it's coalitions, as for the deal with only being able to have ten people in a hideout, well, i've scouted some really good places in CO that could easily host rp if we need more space, and are ussually unpopulated, i've been doing alot of work to really learn the game, and it's community as well as slowly writing a somewhat indepth "Acclimation" guide for City of heroes players coming into the game,

That being said here are a few ground rules i would like to keep in place for now, firstly i currently have nearly all ranks capable of inviting, this isn't to be abused at all..the reason for it is simple, i can't be online all the time, and i can't be expected to hunt down every single global name, so please, invite your friends who were in NG or people you absolutly know fit with our themes. these global invite privalages will be changing once things are more esstablished,

and pretty much every other rule boils down to don't be a douche so it should be easy to follow since we're all family anyway

Fine, fine... downloading the client this morning before work, will muss around with it when I get home later today. Not sure yet what, if any character, will escape the Paragon world into the new one. Toying with the idea of an older, more bitter Torch, but we shall see.

I moved the uniform discusion in a new thread. NG should be more than the cosutmes so we can focus on what we actualy want to do here.
And on that topic: In Champions you aren't just some guy with superpowers. You are clearly a superhero, you get called that from the very beginning. So this time around I would say if we have an academy it trains mutant superheroes. I pretty much asumed that in the beginning of COH too but people tended to make alts that just happened to have powers and didn't actualy want to fight. Which is a bit shitty since that's the game.
