Okay... i joined, remade Sovereign, and made it through the tutorial, and joined the chat channel. I'm really hoping that hanging out with next-genners manages to improve my opinion of this game, because so far i really don't have anything good to say about this game.

It actualy does get a little better You really got to fiddle with the graphics though. Plus they are loving to be difficult and complicated about everything. Right now they cancelled my gold account because appearantly my payment method isn't good enough for them? Was good enough for COH for five years, I  really have no idea what the issue is.

Same as old NeXt Gen except more silver age?:D(e.g., The X-men cartoon show, not the X-men comics), 'cause CO has a more 'we r heroz dood' feel to it than CoH:D

The first few levels are painful. The run animations are ugly. But Alerts are cool, the maps are far bigger(no war walls!YOu just transition-load between sections of the city in the background), you get a travel power at 5. Freeform powers are way better than FTP model.

Next Gen started as a mutant only group but people eventually shifted to nonmutants out of a want for something different and the group changed to fit that. So what's the plan? Are we Next Gen in the Champion Universe or are we going to Justice League/Avengers this mo-fo?

Alright to answer a few brewing questions i've decided to make a post

What is our theme? : Well little changes about our theme, i know CO seems very "we are heroes hurrah!" but it's not entirely in fact there is plenty of horror intrigue and down right vile shit in the game, you just have to get there, in one example there is a mission arc that requires you to basically be an investigator in a "The Thing" scenario dead bodies and an inability to trust anyone cause they could be the monster, ..with that being said there is also some pretty goofy shit too foxbat for example, so i think our theme will be pretty much the same it has always been with a few minor changes

the first change i think needs addressed is.
Will NG be Mutant only?
the quick answer to this is NO and let me explain
throughout our history we have had many coalitions that help NG on a regular basis, we have alot of people coming in from another game and having multiple SG's with no coalition capability isn't exactly the best idea for keeping a group together, so here is my solution
considering what NG has always been i can see plenty of reason to take in people of nearly all walks of life, assuming they at least have -something- to do with mutants..I.E. they are a completly tech based non mutant character who studies mutation, any number of medical personel, mages seeking to unlock the power mutnts are born with and so on.

on another note , in the past NG was basically a tech based supergroup staffed by mutants, in this new vision, and without our massive store house of future tech, we have looked to magic to give us that upper hand against our enemies, expect a combination of magical and mutation related stories, but do not fret we will still have our tech specialists, afterall, have you ever known Grim to give up any advantage?

that being said, we do have alot more ranks in the new Sg format than before, and i plan to make at least a couple of them NGU ranks so feel free to join with whomeever, we're all a family and we can make this work

it is also apparent that "The Foundry " will be coming to CO in the near future, (the foundry is an AE like service that will allow you to make your own enemies and missions and so on) so we needn't change our style at all, keeping in line with our feel is very possible

Much love
         Grim.

Well I said my part to that already. I think our biggest strength over all these years has been a tight theme. If we give that up we are essentialy the justice league with a werid military fetish. Honestly then I said I step a bit back I kinda didn't expect to hear the "blow up the SG" news directly after because that's what giving up the mutant theme amounts to for me. We have two schticks: Mutants and Tech. Ditching them both as the first thing for Champions essentialy negates everything that I would like about the whole setup for me. Nothing against a new and different group but stuffing the husk of this one with something completly different just leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I personaly won't be a part of any sort of rainbow NG especialy since Champions does not ask for more than a lip commitment of "oh yeah I'm a mutant" since it has no origins. That doesn't seem that much to ask.

At random: Radicore and Techweaver, two of the potential NGers in Champions. No idea why the shot is so dark sadly.

you do have a point there Falke, and i can totally agreee there , maybe i didn't quite look at it in depth enough, keeping the Mutant theme above everything else is paramount for what Next Gen is, and i did over think things trying to please everyone, so mutant it is..

I agree with Boss Man!:O

NG is a mutant group. Whether you're a mutant that powers an Iron-man suit with a nuclear reactor for a heart, A mutant that's been cobbled together with Supah-Science from other mutants parts, or a mutant that knwos magic, you're still a mutant!:O
