Didn't we use to vote on storylines back in the day? Couldn't we do that for a backstory also? Just maybe have a meeting and run down some ideas and then take the top 3 and put it to a vote?

T-Bird is right. Suggestin time. I’d say we put up a vote with 3 to 5 options.

Here’s what I’d throw in:

Exiles: The survivors of COH. More of a mutant gang than an organization since they no longer have the insane amounts of money or future tech NG had in Paragon.

Builders: A few people in the Champions Universe such as Grim Ichor remember a second, different life in another world. They try to rebuild the NG they had there but lacking the super science and money they are having a tough time, doing patchwork solutions using magic there science fails and general developing into something different.

Mirrors: Possibly the same persons than above but they found a source of resources and tech and thus vastly rebuilding NG as it was with some changes to adapt to the new world (less dark, no assassin squad for example). They get these resources from a mysterious source only some people in the leadership know? Dun dun dun. Future plot points.

I favor extremes so I like the first and third option here but the second is what Grim wanted and while I’d like the world to be that way ideas don’t become invalid if I don’t like them

Here are some of mah ideas:

Pod-People : Gal or Dayrunner manage to make the transition(along with a substantial/most/all of the NG staff/peoples), along with a big chunk of tech. However, the changing of realities(not just dimensions, since the multiple portal corp dimensions were all one super-reality that was CoH) drained most of the members, but left Gal/Dayrunner/Lightnyng/whoever 'awake'(probably whoever pushed the portal button) long enough to find a CO Grim(could even be CoH grim) and explain that, at the very least, it's terribly important to protect this stuff from her Sister reality. Also, she now has access to a big chunk of escaped tech, except only about 30% of it works, and of that, she has no idea how to use it! The rest of the group is put into a sort of rejuvenation pod that keeps them alive and stable while they recover, adapt, etc. to the new reality. Of course, anyone who wants to start fresh could simply make a new version/alt of the former mutant, and the CoH-version is just asleep in a pod. Which could be fun when the original wakes up....

Interdimensional space riders: Gal/Dayrunner/CoH Grim/etc. create a base on Mars/Moon/Pluto/Asteroid ala Magneto's space colony-thingy after arriving from CoH-verse. They then slowly release NG members from cold sleep and help them adapt to a world with less mutant hate, No freedom phalanx, and weird ugly bug people instead of Rikti. At the same time Purgatio could do the same as well, so we could bring villians too yay! Co/CoH grim is made leader of a new NG in Detroit(since it fulfills the same basic geographic location as Paragon does), which is about the same as the old one. Someone using a front-company that makes money off of smart investment in mutant heroes/etc. while secretly being a dimension-hopping/future-tech shadow organization. And Grim would still be the leader, just with shadowy overmind characters that you don't get to see cause Tbirdy and Gal like to nap a lot!:P

So those are mine. Oh! You could also combine the two. So, Pod-People's weakening from trans-reality-shifting, but most of the supertech makes it through, and it's entrusted to CO Grim/new officers/peoples to take care of it while Gal goes Mum-Ra and wraps himself in toilet-paper and shambles around a MOOOOON BASE.

Also because every good super-group origin should have healthy doses of stupidly complex, interconnected PLOT.

PLOT!

Elis' ideas have the best names ever. Especialyl "Pod People". Also using "likes naps" as a plot excuse is so awesome it deserves an award.

LOL  Eli...

Well I like Exiles, builders AND Both of these options.

Personally Ive been RPing Aeri so far with the Exiles theme.  I see her escaping more then anything but I like some of those other escape ideas.  Pod People.. heh...

That's why I like the Pod People idea. Cause it allows people who can/have adapted to the shift more quickly/easily/used other means to escape to also join in as well, but also neatly explains why one or another of our alts aren't around currently, despite going into it with a backstory for the group:D

Personaly I won't take over alts as mine haven't been very superheroic and Champions really invites colorful costumes and names. Every person we got in NG over there so far has some. Which is kind of awesome. I kinda hope we can have costumes, hero names and maybe uniforms if we want to. I think Champions is better if played to it's strength than as a COH replacement. I prefer a clean cut and a sort of new reality ala reality rewriting itself but that's becaus that's the sort of stories I like (See age of Apocalypse) I wouldn't want to keep people from going on playing the exact same people if that's what they want. Think I'm just too in love with the freedom of just making all my stuff band spanking new.

That's what I've been contemplating these past few days. The chance to bring in a new vision of my old characters within the world of CO is something that I might do. Thinking of something similar to all of the recent 'New 52" and other reboots. Personally I think that with the universe we're going into we give us a chance to change only a few things or bring in a complete new take for our characters.

I got to do some major changes to the site to cope with the transition to COH. I'm thinking of cutting the sheer amount of forum sections by at least half. Any thoughts on that?

Mark the CoH ones you don't want anymore as 'archived', and make new CO ones?:O
