We should have a working background for our Champions SG up by now but the sad fact is I can't write it. I tried several times but I just can't get myself to make this the official ending of COH. Many of the options we went this, including this one essentialy mean we have lost. Every battle we ever thought in Paragon was for nothing, every sacrifice in vain. No matter our struggles every single person in the world we tried to protect died. And not only that, we didn't even stay and fight. We fled to another world, leaving all the normal people to die. I just can't work with that and I can't see a single one of my characters involved in something like this.
This one time I'm affraid someone else has to come up with the story because I really can't. That is just not the end I want to see for our years of playing. Gonna try to find a different motivation because going for the "mutant cause" after just running from an exploding dimension really doesn't work for me.
"Oh yeah our home blew up but we totaly know what's best for your world." It just feels icky.

Whichis kinda why I posted this. It seems you could make this story work. While I had no idea how to go at it.
A minor detail for you as you weren't around for a bit: Statesman is kinda dead
They killed them in the VIP story arcs.

Idea here... The universe is ending and Portal Corps, Next Gen and Vanguard know it. Here is how...

*Portal Corps knows because they have been picking up bizarre bursts of quantum energy and singularities that have actually resulted in a few deaths. The greatest minds have been working on it in silence and have determined that the universe is collapsing, sooner than later. While they can determine that much on their own, they are working on establishing a safe zone to send civilians and trying to determine the time of the total collapse. They have blocked all known exits out of this universe in the belief that the continuous use of the portals might be causing destability.

*Vanguard knows because Dark Watcher has finally revealed to them his reason for staying around; the universe is done. In an effort to save themselves and a few well paying and key personnel, they are searching for near empty realities and shipping supplies, gold and tech through to set up a base of operations; they consider this universe a lost cause and have only selected the most loyal and dogmatic for this mission. With Portal Corps request for additional security, they have happily packed on additional, non essential forces to make them happy and stop them prying. They don't want anyone who might get in their way to to disrupt what they are working on or planning for in the future.

*Galaxyan, in tune with the quantum forces controlling this universe, has not only sensed the end but has an exact time. He has been unsure of going on, wondering the point until he had time to think about it. He'd struggled too long and fought too hard to let the children of his species burn out and for that matter, the children of this universe. Galaxyan took Dayrunner's speech to heart and now intends to authorize telling everyone in next Gen the plan and breaking through the defenses of both Vanguard and Portal Corps to rescue as many mutants, heroes and civilians as he can by triggering the portal with his own power. He's located the universe of Champions and has found their population to be a billion smaller than the Paragon Universe.
   The time to escape is now...

Additional possibilities...
*Shipping Grim over earlier as recon... perhaps with additional agents(recon X last mission?). She could establish a beach head of sorts and Dayrunner could provide her with a tradable resource to help(selling tech for gold? Our tech might be useless there but gold is gold baby...).
*I love the idea of the "Pod Concept"... it would allow people to start old characters again as they "regain their strength" from an exceptionally hard transition in the "cosmology of the multiverse"... perhaps much farther than they were meant to travel so quickly? You could even maintain your characters in the pod as long as you like if your not up to a particular one yet. It doesn't have to disrupt or place the "your universe wouldn't exist without me" feel to it... perhaps Gal and whats left of Purgatio realize they are in this together and decide to unite? Perhaps they turn the Ark into an actual Ark in space.... containing the sleeping thousands they manage to save? Ever searching for the right place or 'verse to drop them off at or waiting for an area to clear in the C.O. universe?
   I love the idea of a whole other story happening just on board the Ark maybe just in fan fiction or having it as a base again, this time for everyone...
*Old is New again... with all of the above... maybe you just wanna remake your character and have a fresh start? the C.O. universe of version of so-and-so joins up! Or you start all new stuff! It all works. It doesn't have to disrupt anything.
*Last but not least is everyones exit from C.o.H. is theirs to control... if you go via Gal or Day or some other means, it doesn't matter. Just make yourself happy with it and if you can, write it down... this could be amazing if we put it down in the stories section...
Just some ideas here man, take what ya like and leave what ya don't.
