How do I get started?

Depending on what image you plan on using there are different approaches:


A tiled image is basically a square image that repeats in the horizontal (x) direction, vertical (y) direction or both. The edge of the tiled image is designed to match the opposite edge so it can repeat forever and appear as one continuous image

Single Background Image

Well first off you need to know what screen resolution you are targeting. According to W3 Schools, 36% of their users used a resolution of 1024x768 and 57% used a higher resolution! Their data may be biased to web designers, but it does show the trend of higher resolution. So you may need to think about targeting these higher resolutions. I have two monitors (for now), one is 1440x900 and the other is set to1600x1200.

Now we need to find an image. Try looking for a large image, preferably close to your target size.  If you already have one, great! If not, trying doing a google image search for your particular game or go to Deviant Art and look for something there. Then download the image to your desktop.

How do I edit my image?

There is a list of 11 online editors that you can choose from to edit your image. Given the information above,
