Mottie,

Ok... I've started updating pages on the live guild site. I tried putting this script into a Free Form HTML Box on the left side of the page that has other stuff in it already (more on this later).

What happens is the spinner icon shows up on the left side, then the script attempts to replace the thread display area. Problem is... it put the rpLoading div where the thread listings are supposed to go. The thread listings never appear.

The additional code in the free form box is a realm status icon, but not the one from your site. I doubt this code is causing a problem, but here it is for your review...

<div style="vertical-align: top; text-align: center;">
    <a href="http://www.wowrealmstatus.net/">
    <img style="border-style: solid; border-width: 0px;" src="http://www.wowrealmstatus.net/status.php?s=hyjal&amp;r=1" alt="Hyjal Status" />
    </a>
</div>

If I cut the code from the left hand box and place it in it's own free form box at the bottom of the page, it works as intended.

Any thoughts?

Hi Bob!

I didn't see the recent posts on your main site, but I'm guessing that it's not on your forums page?

Odd, I thought I had all the bugs worked out when I posted the script on my test pages. It didn't start working until I set the "replaceForumRecentPosts" to false (non-forum page) - I'll have to dig into the script to fix this properly. But try switching that variable to false and see if it works. - with the realm status too.

Mottie,

Sorry man... I forgot that on the live site I have the "new" versions of the site pages set to officer/admin only.

If you need me to, I can recreate it on my test site. But I think you have a good handle on what the problem is so you probably don't need that.

I've got a raid tonight, but I'll tweak the vars tomorrow to see if that changes anything.

Hi Bob!

I've updated the code... including the HTML and CSS. Please try it out and see if you are still having the same trouble as before.

I've got it running on both my test and live sites now. Works exactly as expected. I like that it doesn't display the default post listings but instead puts the loading icon there before updating the thread links. Very nice addition.

This code works just fine, but I wanted to know if there was a way to move the View All etc to the bottom? Seems cluttered at the top.

Hi Merenwench!

There is a variable in the code called "paginateLocationTop", just set it to false:
var paginateLocationTop = false; // Set to true to place at top, false to add below

Mottie,

It would seem something has changed in the last couple days that renders this script non-functional. It displays the header portion of table you're generating, but none of the thread data is displayed.

This is the same on both sites I manage that have been using your current release version of the code for 6+ months.

I tried adding the new widget GP has for Recent Threads... but it's horrible looking and not the clean integration into the forum listing like your script (which is what the people in these guilds want).

Hi Bob_Laublaw!

The recent changes in the forum structure broke the script, it should be all fixed up now!

What was updated? The original post in this thread hasn't been updated since 10/09 and the code posted on the second page of this thread hasn't been updated since 11/09. Or are you referring to something being changed on GP's side? I don't see the scripts as they currently exist on the sites working, so I'm doubting it's a change to GP's setup.
