Hi Mottie

I could have sworn i saw something about this in here before (a while back!) but i cant find it anywhere now

Is it still possible to do something like this?

We have a few forum posts where there is loads of info separated by their own headings - but as we all know, most people just switch off after seeing how much there is to read SO it would be great if we could set them out so clicking on the headings expands and collapses the writing related to it.

Hi Lakshmii!

It's part of my "Forum Module - Popups" mod, just install it and it'll add a few icons to your forum editor which will allow you to add an info box like this:

Hi Mottie

I was trying to use this feature to make a big wall of text easier for members to go through as it contains a lot of important info - but all the expand/collapsable sections dont seem to have any formatting options, so whatever is in those boxes seem to just be lumped there as one paragraph, even when i leave line spaces and when i copy/pasted it as already formatted with points into the collapse/expand box.

Have I missed something?

Hi Lakshmii!!

Inside of the boxes you can add any HTML you want. And because the forum editor automatically adds carriage returns, and makes it easy to add other styling, I'd recommend writing the content for the box in the editor first, then switch to HTML mode and copy it that way. Then paste that code into the box content. Like this:

Write the content in this editor:
Caramels danish biscuit soufflé cheesecake sugar plum tart caramels. Macaroon liquorice liquorice. Dessert liquorice chocolate toffee applicake gingerbread cookie.

Tootsie roll pastry chupa chups halvah donut danish lollipop oat cake marshmallow. Brownie tart liquorice lemon drops toffee croissant gummies. Pastry carrot cake tiramisu tootsie roll tootsie roll. Cheesecake wafer pie liquorice carrot cake apple pie bonbon gingerbread.

Chocolate croissant tiramisu apple pie tart. Brownie oat cake applicake. Bonbon croissant danish lemon drops sesame snaps sesame snaps danish topping cheesecake. Carrot cake cake wypas sesame snaps gummies.

Marshmallow carrot cake powder. Chocolate cake wafer pie biscuit gummi bears lemon drops tiramisu. Pastry halvah caramels macaroon caramels muffin.

Halvah tiramisu chocolate bar sweet roll tootsie roll faworki. Pie oat cake marzipan. Biscuit marshmallow jelly cotton candy jelly beans cheesecake croissant wypas wypas.
Then switch to HTML mode and find the stuff you just added (or write it in a fresh window to make copying easier; ctrl-A to select all, then ctrl-c to copy) - so now in the clipboard you'll have the HTML:
Caramels danish biscuit souffl&eacute; cheesecake sugar plum tart caramels. <a href="#">Macaroon</a> liquorice liquorice. Dessert liquorice <span style="color: #c0504d;">chocolate</span> toffee applicake gingerbread cookie.<br />
<br />
Tootsie roll pastry chupa chups halvah donut danish lollipop oat cake marshmallow. Brownie tart liquorice <span style="color: #ffff00;">lemon drops</span> toffee croissant gummies. Pastry carrot cake tiramisu tootsie roll tootsie roll. Cheesecake wafer pie liquorice carrot cake apple pie bonbon gingerbread.<br />
<br />
Chocolate croissant tiramisu <span style="color: #ff0000;">apple pie tart</span>. Brownie oat cake applicake. Bonbon croissant danish lemon drops sesame snaps sesame snaps danish topping cheesecake. Carrot cake cake wypas sesame snaps gummies.<br />
<br />
Marshmallow <span style="color: #e36c09;">carrot cake</span> powder. Chocolate cake wafer pie biscuit gummi bears lemon drops tiramisu. Pastry halvah caramels macaroon caramels muffin.<br />
<br />
Halvah tiramisu chocolate bar sweet roll tootsie roll faworki. Pie oat cake marzipan. Biscuit marshmallow jelly <span style="color: #d99694;">cotton candy</span> jelly beans cheesecake croissant wypas wypas.
Now click on the "Add Hide-Show Box" icon and add the paste in (ctrl-v) the content, and you should end up with something like this:
