About your character

Are you applying for a social invite or as a progression raider?

Progression. No way would you want to socialize with me!

Character name:

Listerene 80 Hunter (Durotan)
Ancillary 80 Druid (Durotan)
Antisepsis 80 Paladin (Durotan)

Elitist 80 Warlock (Lightbringer)
Gingivytis 80 DK (Lightbringer)
Safeguard 80 Warrior (Lightbringer)
Initium 80 Priest (Ligthbringer)

Also a level 80 rogue and mage on a third account I no longer play.

Class:

If hunter, please note that in addition to your other duties, you will also be the guild scapegoat, taking the blame for incidents including, but not limited to, the tanks dying from lack of healing, cloth-wearing classes body-aggroing trash, and us running out of booze.

This is acceptable, since if any of you ever run out of booze, I wouldn't really want to be on Vent anyways!

Race:

If gnome, expect to be juggled and/or turned into dinner. Hungry druid is hungry!

Homo sapiens sapiens. Incidentally, there is a IUCN rating for the conservation status of humans: Least Concern. Just wanted to let you know that I am people like me won't be going extinct any time soon.

Spec:

Are you dual-spec and/or would you be willing to respec?

Yes, I have dual spec on all of my characters. I am also willing to respec for any relevant reason and have done so numerous times in the past, most notably on my warlock to demonology/affliction mid raid for fights that needed it.

If you are willing to fill another role, do you currently have the gear to support it? Include your stats for alternate specs not available on the armory.

I would love to hunter tank things, but I'm afraid my gear is not quite there yet. Actual answer: hunters have two major raiding specs: survival and marks. Survival gems agi (always), while marks gems agility until the second ArP plateau (~7-800 or so) and then gems ArP. As such, at very high gear levels I would need to have two distinct gear sets if I wanted to use specs optimally. As of right now, I am still gemming agility, which means that I would not need to regem in order to switch specs. Most of the pieces I'm using are clearly better than anything else I have access to for either spec, so it isn't like I could really do anything about it, but I do keep survival vs. marks in mind when choosing upgrades, etc.

Gear (link from the Armory, warcrafter.net, or Ctprofiles):

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Durotan&cn=Listerene

Also, I would like to let you know that WowHeroes, a very reliable metric, says that my gear is "good enough" for Naxx10. In case you wanted to do that instance in the near future, let me know, because I am totally good enough for that place!

Briefly describe your usual DPS or threat rotation and when (or if) it varies. If you are a healer, tell us about your healing style.

I use a priority system with  Kill Shot > Chimera > Aimed > Steady. I have silencing shot and kill command macrod into all of the above abilities, since they do not use the GCD and would be used pretty much all the time anyways. I tend to use Rapid Fire -> Readiness -> Rapid Fire with trinket procs/heroism/fight specific events. I have, on occasion, been known to use other things, like misdirect, feign death, deterrence and freezing trap. In general, hunter DPS is fairly easy, provided you understand how steady shot works with auto shot, when you should use arcane shot and when good times to switch to Viper are. I am currently using the latest version (93i) of Shandara's DPS spreadsheet from EJ to make my rotation and gear choices.

Bonus points for a WWS parse of you performing well:

Do not currently have one available, what with being bad and all.

What consumables do you bring to an average raid?

Blackened Dragonfin (agi food), Mammoth Treats, Flask of Endless Rage, Runic Mana Potion, Wild Magic Potion (for use pre fight to get a higher crit chance on serpent sting ticks) and Potion of Speed. Also runic health potion, and resistance potions/flasks of the relevant type. I guess also arrows, bandages and smoke flares.

List your relevant Wrath raiding experience (bosses killed):

NaxxTier:

Glory of the Raider (10man) Complete with Sarth 10+3, etc.
Just missing immortal for Glory of the Raider (25man).

Ulduar Tier

Glory of the Ulduar Raider Complete, with Algalon and Alone in the Darkness on multiple toons.
Glory of Ulduar Raider (25man) Complete, with Algalon (25man) and Alone in the Darkness on my warlock.

ToC Tier

Tribute to Dedicated Insanity (ilvl 245 or lower gear for the ten man) completed on multiple toons.
Tribute to Insanity (25man) completed on my warlock, as well as the world 16th hardmode anub25 kill on my DK (yes, we had three players playing alts for that. Apparently unholy was good or something?).

ICC Tier

[I quit in late November, so my ICC progression kind of went to zero]

ICC25: First 4 with some experience not winning on Dreamwalker.
ICC25: First 4, Plagueworks, and Sindragosa. Also some experience not winning on 10man Dreamwalker.

Do you want to bring any alts with you? (Note: your alt(s) must be at least level 20 to warrant an invite.)

I don't believe in alts.

About you

Have you read our guild rules?

This guild has rules? Oh dear, I'm not sure anymore... but I already put so much time into writing this app.

Please review our raiding schedule and indicate what days you can attend. If there are any raids you can partially make, indicate that as well. Times are EST (server time).

I can attend all of these.

Wednesday 9:00 pm - 1:00 am:
Sunday 9:00 pm - 1:00 am:
Monday 9:00 pm - 1:00 am:

Do you have vent? A mic?

Pfft? Voice communication? I speak to you through the power of my mind.

Are you over 18? Or can lie well enough we’re not going to catch you out?

Yes. Should I enlist in the (Canadian) Armed Forces and exercise my right to die for my country?

Maturity as measured in kittens:

Eleven, on a logarithmic, ten kitten scale.

Why do you want to join Bacchanalia? Give us something more than the stock, “I want to raid,” because no shit. Why choose us?

Wait, you guys raid? Crap, I don't want to be doing any of that. Essentially, I'm not really sure I want to do srs bsns raiding anymore, largely because it a) takes too much time b) gets boring and c) I like sunlight and not being a social recluse. You guys are fun, I know
a couple, some, most of you, and I would enjoy doing stuff with other people who don't suck but without trying to find twenty four of those. I'm not going to lie, I think Durotan is a pretty poopy server progression wise, and this is really the only guild I see myself joining, because I think Chimera is a complete joke of a "serious" raiding guild and everyone else is just straight up worse. I would be okay with doing some Baccanalian raiding, because you can make meaningful progress in ten man raiding without having to worry about roster size, rank position and flaunting your epeen on the realm forums. Oh yeah, and did I mention I rather enjoy your company?

Past guilds (including imaginary ones):

In order of relevance:

House of Exeunt
Nightcrawlers
Ephemera
Illumination
Ephemera
Final Destination
Rocket Science

[fuck you Bhavani, Skammadix and this server's lack of raiders]

Remnant [Lightbringer]
Eternal Reign [Lightbringer]

Reason(s) for leaving your old guild(s):

I'll start with the Durotan ones. Durotan's pre-TBC raiding was characterized by a ton of wanna be raiding guilds and a couple ultra hardcore guilds with people like Himmelweiss running things. Most of you probably do not know Himmelweiss, but he was angry, German and extremely pretentious. I am also pretty pretentious, so stuff didn't work out so well. I'd like to point out that at the time, I was playing resto druid, so my entire class was based around spamming HT rank 4, giving innervates to priests and combat ressing people who stood in fire. Oh yeah, and taking the metric asstons of loot that dropped. I eventually got to the point where I was in a good place, doing meaningful progress, etc. and then they offered transfers off Durotan. My guild and people in it mostly all left, I stayed and then regretted it for all of TBC.

I spent most of TBC tanking, raid leading, getting demoted and giving up on Ephemera, which was the raiding guild I settled on around the end of Vanilla. Their MT (Kethas, whom I think some of you may have heard of, or something) had left around the start of Naxx40 (they were on Huhuran in AQ40 at the time) and we played revolving roulette with tanks for a while. They did have some good people at the warrior position (Garithras and Tinyhinney) but neither of them really raided often enough, so I ended up doing the MT thing for a while. Then they recruited Cathax and Ilvana, who eventually both became officers, controlling some 40% of the votes. I will merely say that, in general, Cathax and I are not really playing the same game when log into WoW. About a week before WoTLK came out, I was informed that I would essentially never have a full time raid slot, at which point I elected to part ways and try some other raiding opportunities. That led to Final Destination, which was a complete joke and subsequently Rocket Science, which Reiki and I really tried to make happen, but was just never going to reach the critical mass of competent raiders to head into Ulduar with.

After we transferred to Lightbringer, I eventually ended up in Eternal Reign, which was (and is) a great guild full of good players busy not standing in fire and using spreadsheets. As it turned out, they weren't all that busy all that often, since we only really spent 2-3 weeks a content tier being busy raiding all the time before stuff fell over. Unfortunately, we usually spent the rest of the time doing all of that again on our alts (I believe the alt raid group was server 4th or so for most things, especially in ToGC, and there are two other US top 100 guilds there). This kind of got really old around the ToC tier, where I did probably upwards of fifteen ToC clears a week on various difficulties. This would have been manageable, except that Lightbringer is a PST server, and I live in Toronto (which is EST) and I just could not keep up raiding until 4am every morning. I took a break from the game for a couple of months to handle some RL backlog from missing that critical 12-4am recuperation period (sleep I think it's called). I am now back, busy shooting things with a crossbow for fun and profit.

Are you applying to other guilds (including imaginary ones)?

Stealthkitty's Guild Where People /lick Other People

Also, Lid's Gear Score is a Good Metric Guild, Where People Like to Abbreviate Lidaene to Lid

Do you know anyone in Bacchanalia?

Probably not. Does anyone really ever know anyone else? Oh they do? Oh dear...

Tell us about yourself:

My name is Mark, I live in Canada and I am currently working on a medical degree. I was at one point contemplating going into research, but then I gave up on that and decided to actually make people better instead. I was previously in a long-term relationship, which imploded spectacularly and have been single (in the meaningful sense) for the past year. I enjoy a lot of things, including most indie music by bands you've never heard of, tennis, exotic cuisine, and a lot more! I was at one point interested in competitive Magic the Gathering, starting my own indie band and some other various things. None of those worked out, sadly, so I'm still stuck learning things!

What’s your favorite web site?

Why, this one of course! Too transparent? Oh alright then. I guess this one:

Huzzah!  Gingi, your app made me laugh. I'd love to have you on board. Let me talk to the other officers, see what the raid attendance has been like.

I'd be way more happy about returning to this game if I could get my sxc back.
