Comp shit the bed I think /cry  Tried new vid card but no go.  Froze up last nite and now everytime i start it ill have yellow lines at the first load screen and at the next screen its filled with exclamation marks  /shrug.   Running vista and when it gets to the windows load screen  nothing happens.  let it sit like that for 10min.  Was able to boot in safe mode but now that doesnt work either.  Anyone have any ideas?

The lines and random characters sounds like a video card.  But if you've tried swapping it and it still doesn't work, it might be any number of things.  Could be motherboard, RAM, or processor.

When you turn it on, do you get through the POST screen?  It's the BIOS data, ram check, drive check, etc?  Or is it just a blank screen?

If you're getting through that and it craps out when you're starting to boot windows, there's a couple things you can try.  If you're not even getting through that, you might be S.O.L.

Making it thru the POST screen/s  but with lines and random charters.  Its when it hits the windows load screen is where it just stops.  Did try a diff/new vid card but i couldnt get on to remove the old drivers  and tried to boot up with the new card and abslulty nothing happened=no bios load screen or nothing , not even my harddrive light would blink like its working.

Well i think i got it figured out.  Hopefully anyway.  It apperas my PCI express slot went to hell.

That would certainly fit your problem description.  Course, that means a motherboard replacement so that sucks.  Hope you're up and running soon!  You have an expansion to deal with son!

ZOGA!  What did you do man!?  Now *my* computer's video has crapped out!! Hopefully I can get my hands on a second video card to test if it's the card or the motherboard tonight.  OI.  I suspect the MB since the on board USB ports crapped out on me a few months back.

So comp woes continue.  Cant find a vid card in my area decent enough for a PCI slot so off to get a new tower...could go for a new MB but lot less hassle with getting a new tower.  Hopefully able to get wow on it and updated before cata release /cry

New tower up and working=)  Think im just gonna wait till i get the Caty CD and update from that instead of putting wrath in and DLing 4.0 all over again.  Hope its quicker
