Legion of Gondor

About the Legion

The Legion of Gondor was Founded in August, 2008, by Sarawenn. The Legion is a role-playing kinship in the Landroval community with the emphasis on Gondor and the Race of Man. We focus on questing, role-playing, crafting, Instances, and the occasional Raid. The Legion tries to stay as close to lore as possible, but we are not lore elitists and know that some leeway must be made to create entertaining roleplaying scenarios. Although the Legion specializes in heavy-armoured classes (Guardians, Captains, and Champions), we welcome other classes as well.

Our Goals:
1. Provide an enjoyable role-playing experience in Tolkien’s world to both beginners and seasoned roleplayers alike, while at the same time experiencing end-game content and Instances that LOTRO has to offer.
2. Recruit mature, helpful and active players, and provide for them resources to make gameplay enjoyable, in the way of Events, Questing, and crafted items.
3. Maintain a peaceful and drama-free environment for our members.

Our Recruitment Policy and Requirements:
1. You must be a mature and active player age 20+. We may make exceptions based on an individual basis.
2. You must enjoy role-playing. The Legion is a medium RP kinship, and our definition of that means being IC during Events, when meeting in Middle-Earth, and whenever else we feel appropriate, but we are not IC one hundred percent of the time.
Most of our RP centers around military-style exploration of various zones, social events, and our weekly inspections, rather than the heavy drama that is centered around Bree.
3. You must have a Middle-Earth appropriate character name.
4. You must enjoy group participation and working as a unit.

Notes: Trial period is three weeks. Recruits may be dismissed from the kinship at any time.

To Apply: Read our Recruitment Info first. Then click "Join Legion of Gondor" at the top of this page to fill out an application. Please make an effort to use whole sentences and proper grammar. Thank you.

Preparing for War!
Cynaera Mistral, Oct 23, 09 3:01 PM.

The Legion as you may already know is gearing up for war in the RP sense as well as OOC.   We want to get everyone as prepared for it as best we can.  To that end I've scheduled events and more events.  Saturday evenings we'll be doing Carn Dum and Uru to get people their class items.  Fridays are instance nights and we'll be need full fellowships.  This is a great chance to have fun, see new places and practice grouping skills.  Deed nights are designed to help members increase their virtues by assisting with the tedious/monotous aspect of killing x amount of creatures to get it done.  It definitely goes faster.  Book quests nights are just that.  We'll help someone out with their book instance parts.  So opportunities are out there.  Let's see some participation!

New Soldiers
Aegmor, Sep 7, 09 12:51 PM.

This past Sunday saw the promotion of three excellent soldiers.  Aeyrgrim, a skilled hunter, Jarrus, a knowledgeable lore-master, and Sarvdir, a warden skilled in javelins.  Please congratulate these members on their new position in the Legion.
Legion Rally: Promotions!

The Legion's Latest Soldiers.

The last Legion Rally saw the promotion of Recruit Beredir and Recruit Ferian to Soldiers with the presentation of their Navy Soldier Hauberk. Ferian is known to us through the actions of the elf scout Rithwen (alt of Rithwen), while Beredir has fast shown that he embodies all the positive traits of a guardian and will no doubt be a boon to the Legion.
Be sure to salute them as soldiers from now on, and on behalf of the Officers and Leadership i congratulate them both! No doubt in the future we will be hearing of their brave and noble feats all across Eriador and beyond.
Descent on Dol Dinen!

Descent on Dol Dinen

A letter finds it way to the Legion Kinship letterbox, addressed to the Officers of the Legion of Gondor. It is from our ally, Harbryt (Oweyn), Captain of the Order of the Tower Guard. The letter reads as follows:

"The Witch-king has done the impossible, united the Orc tribes within the North Downs. While the Tarkips hold fast Nan Wathren, and the Blogmal now occupy Fornost, it is in the scorched earth area known as Dol Dinen that the Ongburz build their seige weaponry.
I, Harbryt, Captain of the Tower Guard have taken it upon myself to gather allies to break this impending seige. Know that we will face some of the most savage servants of the Eye. Orcs, trolls, wargs, defilers. They all teem in the hundreds, and they will not take prisoners. But then nor shall we.

So gather your weapons and your provisions and follow the Banner of the Free People held aloft by my herald. We will meet in the hidden fort of Esteldin, there we shall make our assault plans. Those interested please add your name below and listen for my summons. We gather where the Rangers train.
"

Oweyn of the OOTTG is putting on an RP raid event into Dol Dinen. All are invited to join, i don't believe there are any level requirements so everyone can attend! Head over to our Alliance forum here to sign up and read further information about this up coming event. We look forward to seeing some Legion members attending and being part of the alliance!

If you cannot post on the alliance forums yet, just let me (Ruthelia/Blippo) know and i will make sure your intentions are known!

For our White City,
  Ruthelia Clovenvael
