The Crusaders of Liberty is a very new group that has been founded by Liberty Crusader, who actually saw battle in WW2 and through a freak incident in a bunker in France, gained superhuman speed, stamina and strength. Seeing this, the US government decided to make him a symbol to inspire the troops against the Axis Powers. He was placed in the premiere hero group of the time, the Sentinels of Liberty, becoming a valued member, also being given the Liberty Shield, a symbol of freedom.
He battled till he was critically injured by an explosion, but before he would die the government took him away and placed him in cryogenic sleep to let his wounds heal, knowing they might need him again. And so he slept, eventually a secret so deep he was forgotten, that is until the 2nd Rikti invasion, when the place he was kept was struck and he was freed. Now a man lost in time, he hopes to create a group that will stand for the things he believed in, during his age Truth, Justice and, Liberty for All!
