Closed Beta Date: January 15th 2012
The SBEmu Team is proud to announce that we'll be starting Closed Beta Invites for a January 15th start date for SBEmu Closed Beta! This is after months of hard work, perseverance, and ultimately patience by not only the SBEmu Team, but the community. It is absolutely remarkable how we've grown as a community since the announcement of the Shadowbane Emulator project in June! Over this month we'll be looking over and sending out Closed Beta invites to those whom applied for the Test Team, as well as continuously accept new applications for Closed Beta! We will be sending out Closed Beta invites starting January 1st.

Closed Beta will contain all features which will be implemented in full and we will just be identifying outlying bugs and stress testing the server. From fighting over Bounty Hunter runes, mine fights, to yes, even banes, Closed Beta will have it all!
Open Beta which will be announced at a later date, will be opened to the community when no more major bugs and even most minor bugs can be identified.
Test Team Additions:
The Test Team will also be adding 4 more members in order to further help us identify and organize bugs as our developers work to introduce more content and fix more and more bugs. Additionally these testers will help the Beta Testers with identifying and recording the bugs that they find as well. With the holidays and increasing pressure of real life, these testers will be imperative in helping the developers correctly and efficiently identify and fix bugs. If you need an application for the Test Team, you can find it at the same forum where you apply for Closed Beta, as stated above.
Weekly Update Portion
Adron has made excellent progress this week, in regards to figuring out the training costs for focus skills. Also, testing has been largely done on attacking while chants are going, aka "Mask Casting". Melee combat during flight, as well as different tiers of flight. Additionally, more complex formulas such as defense, attack speed formulas (against debuffs), and attack rating. The test team has also completely gone through 90% of the discipline runes, as well as stat runes and many different types of armor, jewelry and weapons. Though these are not being made from forges, almost everything is working correctly.

Our site has grown by leaps and bounds since last week, when we announced that the community would be able to log in and create chars! Everyday familiar faces are returning to our midst, as we grow ever closer to the game we cherished for the past decade. Our

Weekly Update 11/27/11
You can now log in to the Login Server! You can log in by changing the following in your ArcaneIP file located in the "Config" folder of your Shadowbane client. (ArcaneIP.cfg)
Arcane IP Address:
SERVER= SB-LS.ShadowbaneEmulator.com
PORT= 6000
The file should read exactly what is stated above. Make characters to your heart's desire.

Test Team Updates
Our Test Team is going to begin looking at new applications for Junior Testers beginning this week, so make sure to apply if you wish to be considered for this round of testers. Please PM Silk for an application to the Testing Team. If you have already applied there is no need to re-apply, your application will be considered each time a group of testers is needed! Please be advised that testers are selected on a need basis.

Project Update 7/27/11
There has been some great news recently. Some milestones have been reached, and a valuable team member has returned to the team.
Database Development
Rich has finished implementing the new database design. This has been a large ongoing process for over 4 months, and was a major hurdle. There are still a few small bugs that need to be addressed and fixed, but they can be worked on alongside other systems. With this completed the development team will now be able to make progress on new features. The database was a rough task to tackle, and we are grateful Rich put his time and effort in completing it.
Asset Placement
Papah has finished implementing the player asset building placement system. Players now can use building contracts to place buildings. A few small bugs still need to be addressed and fixed, but this was a large task and starts the process of getting all asset controls in place.
Design Team
Kinslayer and Konrad have finished entering in all of the mob types for every single mob in the game. This was a very large but necessary task to enable aggro rules and other factors.
Work on the spawn index has just begun.
Returning Team Member
Ironglove has rejoined the team. He previously worked on Combat and Movement Sync and helped with refactoring some of the main work engine of the server so that we could limit CPU impact of certain types of activity, such as mob patrolling and movement. This helped to fix a lot of lag from the mob movement jobs.
