Well, the cruise was fantastic.  We took 500 pictures, plus got the Platinum Package that the on-board photographers took, giving us probably another 1000 pictures.  Its pretty insane.

Julie won the Slot Machine Tournament, giving her $500 dollars, which we used to pay for the photo package and cruise DVDs.  I'll post some of them on here in the next few days, just to make you all jealous of the great times that were had.

Now that I am back, hopefully activities within the guild will ramp up again, as looking through the history in game, not a lot went on while I was away.  I guess it was a vacation for everyone!  I'd like to get the dungeon runs ramping up again, especially now that they have fixed up the bugs with the diminishing returns system to not so harshly punish people who have repeated dungeons.

As most of you have probably heard, I will be leaving this weekend on a cruise to Hawaii!  In my absence, I have full confidence that Holygrape will be able to keep the guild going and I hope that you all continue coming out for guild night even though I won't be there to get it organized.

I am leaving on the 23rd of September, and will be back online sometime in the evening of the 9th of October.  Don't despair, you guys have it easy, its my dogs who are really going to miss me!

Just a heads up for those of you who log on in a week or two and wonder to yourselves, "Hey, where'd Kritus go?".  I'll be thinking of you all while I am on the ship, sipping margarita's in the middle of the Pacific, and snorkeling off west Maui.

Tonight is Corrupted Essence's first Guild Night in Guild Wars 2, and what better time now that the team at Arena Net has gotten most of the major bugs ironed out!

Some of you are probably wondering what this guild night is all about, so for those of you who don't know, I'll break it down for you:

Guild night is a weekly event, currently scheduled to take place at 7:00pm server time (Pacific Time).  Basically, its an evening where members of Corrupted Essence are encouraged to get together to work on any content that they are having difficulty with, whether its assistance getting to a stubborn vista, a personal story quest that's too difficult to solo, or a champion monster that's guarding a nice shiny treasure chest that you'd like a hand taking down!

If nobody needs help with anything, guild members are still encouraged to get together and work towards zone completions, run a dungeon, or even get out and do some World vs World together.  Its called guild night because its a night that you should be working together with your fellow guild members, getting to know them better, helping them out, and making the guild what a guild is supposed to be.

Members are highly encouraged to hop on to the guild ventrilo server during guild night, as it really helps cement that sense of togetherness that being a member of Corrupted Essence is all about.

The time of glory is upon us, and it is called "Release Day"!

As of late last night, I was finally able to see the guild again, and took the opportunity to create a few new ranks, and fill them with some deserving individuals.  I'll be adding more ranks over the next few days, as I edit the official rank responsibilities list in the forum to determine how many ranks we require.

I'd like to take an opportunity to send a big Thank You to Holygrape for stepping up and running the guild while the bug that prevented me from seeing the guild denied me over the past few days.  As part of this recognition, I've created the Senior Officer rank, and promoted Holygrape into the position, which will allow him to promote worthy individuals in the guild up to the rank of Officer.  He's also done a LOT of recruiting over the past few days, which is greatly appreciated.  I've had the opportunity to interact with a few of those new members on Ventrilo, and would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to those that I haven't.  Rest assured that now that I am able to access the guild again, I'm looking forward to playing with all of you.

I've also created the Senior Member rank in game, which should allow the individuals placed in that rank to invite new members to the guild, and have greater bank access than normal members.

I'd like to extend an invitation to all of our new members who would like an opportunity to contribute to the guild to contact either myself or Holygrape with your ideas, as we are currently looking to promote a few more motivated people to Officer who are willing to do a little extra work in planning and organizing the guild and its events, as well as a couple people who want to dedicate themselves to actively recruit and evaluate new members.
