Who are we?
We are
Dominance
. Most players on Vashj are pretty much aware of the low numbers we have on Alliance and the limited options as far as raiding guilds. Our purpose is to allow those players that are serious about progression and understand this privilege to have a place to belong, have fun, see new content and improve as players. We are also in search of "undiscovered talent." We know there are many potential raiders out there that have never been given the opportunity to raid. We'd like to give them that opportunity as well.
We are essentially a PVE guild, but do not dictate how our members spend their time. We are always looking for good quality, mature players who are looking to fill some spots in raids. We are a mature content guild, that being said if you can't handle an 18+ rating you are likely not a good fit.
We are not looking for the glory hounds, braggarts or egoists of the server. We do not feel the need to prove anything to anyone with our epic gear and bosses killed (though server firsts and achievements/rewards are pretty nice). This is not our style.
Rules and Policies
We do have some simple rules and policies, while no one likes rules we dislike guild drama even more. If any of the following don't agree with you this may not be the guild for you.
There are no guaranteed raid spots. This is important. We will take what is best for the encounter and for the guild. If you are being sat it is not a reflection of your ability but rather the officers and raid leaders working towards the goals that we have set for that week. We will not play favorites. This is not our intention. We want everyone to be able to see new content and have fun.
Specific classes will get priority for what is best for the raid at the time. This should go without saying (If we're low on healing for a certain fight we may sub out some of our lesser DPS to bring in another healer). We expect everyone to understand this and not have any hard feelings if you are asked to step out.
Other players/classes may have put more effort on their gear, on their character, reading up on encounters before hand, discussing boss strategies in the forums/vent, enchantments on gear, consumable which are all taken into account for who gets priority, but what's best for the raid is what we'll be going with first and foremost.
Secondly, we want to gear up under geared members when we can, again commitment will be taken into consideration as who we will bring along.
Now, we will not be subbing people in and out after every boss fight because of gear we may for some cases if people need to leave or what not, but you will be expected to be ready to go when you are notified.
If you're asked to commit to a certain night to be there and you do for a specific time. You're expected to be there the entire raid. There is no whining about being tired or you had a long day, while we try to have fun in everything we still have to push to progress and being able to push is expected out of everyone. Remember, it might come down to 24 other people depending on just your one specific role for that night.
Also, if you do commit but show up late or don't show up at all, it will reflect upon your standing a thus affect the priorty we give you over invites. Yes there are exceptions and emergencies. We understand that there is a life outside of Warcraft. Just make sure you let us know.
Note, if you are having consistent connection problems or can't seem to operate well enough because of bad FPS issues, you will be sat if it becomes an issue, you will need a computer and connection that can handle Wrath of the Lich King graphics in a 25 man settings
**You are expected to bring consumables to raids**. Do not expect to be handed things during a raid. We will try to make feasts for everyone when we can.
Donating the materials for those feast to the guild bank is welcome and will be noted and appreciated.
You are NOT expected to use consumables on every boss, but on bosses we are still progressing with or prove to still be difficult to us at times. If the raid leader asks everyone to pot up because it might make the difference, you should have consumables ready and waiting. We will be checking these to make sure who is prepared. Again, this shows how serious you are and will refect on your raid priorty
The economy is kind of crap on the server so if you can't buy herbs work something out.
Some of our herbalists/alchemists are overly nice and give shit out. If anyone abuses this it will be noted. Their job is not to farm herbs and pots/elixirs for every member of a raid.
We have Potion spec and Elixir spec alchemists in the guild, use them to make your consumables. You can't cook? Farm the raw materials and find someone who can. We have plenty of cooks in the guild.
If you do not know what consumables are best or should be used, ask someone, if they don't know ask an officer and they'll direct you at someone who does. Not everyone knows everything, but we want to bring everyone up to a certain level of competency and not have newbs running around.
With the advent of Dual Specs we may ask you to switch your spec for a fight or two. This is wonderful as the guild bank doesn't have to pay for too many respecs. If you do not have Dual Spec Talents yet and we need you to respec we will pay for your respec.
Loot Rules
We use a EGPG system for looting in 25 man raids to keep it fair to everyone. The more you attend raids, the more effort points you aquire and thus have an advantage over someone that hasn't put in the time you have. Main spec will always take first priority. If no one needs the item for their main spec we will open it to off spec. We want to be fair to everyone and again favorite is not and will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with something that occured. Please let an officer know. We want to keep everyone happy. Guild morale is above all one of the most important thinds we strive to keep positive.
We use EPGPLootmaster to amke the looting faster in the raids. It has an easy GUI when a boss is looted and is very user friendly for both the players AND the raid leader. Taking 25 people's wants and needs into consideration can be a very daunting task when leading a raid. Please be patient.
For 10 man raids we use the standard /roll for loot. Again, main spec first, off spec last. We will disenchant the item and deposit the mats in the guild bank if no one wants it.
Sometimes, doing the research into your class' gear upgrades and looking up what loot bosses drop beforehand can speaed this process up.
Guild Bank
Drops, patterns, enchanting mats etc. from raid runs go to the guild bank. These items are not handled at the time of the raid so do not whisper officers asking for them. We have an officer set up for bank requests. As far as enchanting materials, we will have set prices for guild members to purchase those. We intend for those price to be around half price of the standard AH prices. We do understand those prices fluxuate, but our prive well always be intended as cheaper. All gold made form these purchases will be immediately depositied into the guild bank for respecs, repairs etc.
New Recruitment
What comes along with being part of a low population server means that you may know a large portion of the active players on the realm. That being said people naturally have conflicts/issues with other people. The fact is that it is unlikely that you will be in a guild that you like every member, or that every member likes you. Simply put no one plays this game to deal with the drama of a guild. If you have viable issues with another guildie, bring it to the attention of an officer through tells. It is their job to handle these matters in a quick and discreet manner. If incidents are not reported and become “guild drama” officers will step in and take action in a far less friendly manner. That being said if you simply don’t like another player that’s tough; odds are they don’t like you either. We all play this game to have fun, if it stops being fun, we stop doing what we are doing. I'm sure we have ALL experience the effects of this scenario.
We do ask however for input on new recruits, if you think that someone is not a good fit feel free to voice your opinion when asked. Like the saying says, "One spoiled apple can ruin the bunch." If you have issues please convey your thoughts constructively to an officer and they will be considered. That being said officers are acting in what is best for the guild, we may want to try out a new recruit even if you do not like them.
New recruits are asked to fill out some information and members will have a chance to review your application. Based upon that you will be either given initiate status or a lame excuse. Initiates are guildies effectively in a probationary status, based on time and performance they will be given full member status.
I appreciate you taking the time to read this. We want things to run as smoothly as possible. When you get a chance to run with us you will see that we are laid back and looking to have fun. Unfortunatly, without any rules at all things go bad and end up dissolving. We would like to remain a solid guild and make a name for ourselves on this server. Please take pride in your guild and your guild mates. Do what you can to help eachother out. Remember, we're all ultimately here for a common goal and need to work together.
Thanks,
Leiloo - GM
