…The sky is clearing from a recent rain, as clouds of troubled gray give way to clearing blue, the dawn approaches day.
…The tension of the passing storm ebbs as the city awakens to birdsong and morning lightens the cobble path beneath your feet.
…The iron gates of a grand manor are just ahead.
The double gate stands open, the polished black enamel of the iron only sparsely seen through a profusion of flowering roses twining through the bars. Their scent warms with the breaking sun and a sense of welcome infuses the air as you walk within the grounds.
As you continue up the path, ahead stands the stone manor, with columned arches of classical design, heavy paned windows lined generously on two stories, and a double wooden door richly carved and darkly polished.
Off to the right you hear the whiney of horses in the stables and the industrious sounds of the grooms about their chores. Somewhere on the grounds, bread is baking to break the morning fast and the aroma drifts on a subtle breeze.
To the left lay the gardens. There you catch a glimpse of a figure in a long gown, small and light amid the hedgerows. She catches your eye briefly and inclines her head, urging you on. The sun seems to shine around her, but upon a second glance she is gone.
You remember her gentle smile and step forward, the door before you…
The door opens to reveal a Kerran standing in the doorway.
"Greetings, I am Mewse, Elder of the family along with Lord Abbel and Cayn. I trust your journey here was a pleasant one. Please come so you may have a drink and some food to make you stay more pleasant."
She raises her hand to gesture to the large doors. The large doors seem too big for anyone to even open as you watch Mewse open them with ease. Something about her demeanour tells you that this is a Kerran who has seen a lot of adventure! A small grin comes to your face as you step into a large entry way arches over the doors and two large stair cases going to the upper floors. Walking past the stairs to a hallway between them she starts to speak again.
"I do believe I should let you know that the purpose of our family is to increase the popularity with in our great city of Qeynos and to aid each other in common interests. We hope to be blessed with new members so we will be able to grow and expand. We also want to have fun while when we are together even though some times our views may be different we still are a family. Our goals are to further promote the abilities of our family to the community of Qeynos. We pray we will make a difference by aiding everyone. We do what ever we can to aid the family in many different ways; no matter where you go you are blessed with representing the family and your actions and words reflect on us so you should be careful how you conduct yourself in public as we wish not to have our family be looked down upon. We want people to be honored to know us and maybe interested in being part of the family as well."
She stops before a large arch way looking in you can see a large fire in the middle of the room with many large and comfortable couches and chairs, great paintings along the walls and tapestries softly blowing as the breeze warps around the room. Large windows filling the room with amber glow. A few others sitting around with books and two high elves sitting at a table discussing what seems to be important. Mewse indicates the high elves are Cayn and Abbel, the Lords of the Manor. Then she continues speaking.
This is our main area where we come and have meals together, enjoy each others company and discuss important matters, I should let you know we have pride in our family and want everyone to take pride in our family as well. Like any families we have rules and punishment. The family is expected to show honor, dignity, respect, honesty, and virtue in all things that they do.
We have no minimum level of knowledge or seasons to be apart of the family only that you are a citizen of Qeynos and do not intend to betray what the queen has offered us. The family is always on the look out for brave, honest and non-greedy people to be apart of our family. We are looking for those who are pure and don’t have a history of poor attitudes. Who want to be a part of our family... oh and we do allow personal family members if you have any (alts).
Mewse then stops in front of two big comfy couches offering you to sit. And motions for a barkeep with a kerran growl.
"Would you care for a drink, we have a great many things to offer."
The barkeep brings over a tray of dwarven ale, wine and candy pecans placing it before them on the table and smiles softly as Mewse places a few coins on his tray.
Thank you m’lord, please enjoy. I trust you have some understanding of what we are and if you are interested in joining please seek out one of the family members of Eslihelydd and we shall invite you in to our family with open arms, and if we are what you are looking for we can promote you to a full member of the family once you are settled in. If you have the time we have our rules on a plack in the main stair way we passed. Perhaps things will be clear to you and what we seek for our family. Please enjoy your time here and may Tunare bless your path where ever it should lead.
She leans forward taking the wine in her hand and sipping from the glass, then turns and smiles again to you.
