The Venturers were originally a guild of sailors and explorers formed in Numenor by Aldarion, later to be  King Tar-Aldarion (see link in information section if you want to know more).

Our new kinship the Guild of Venturers was founded on 24th July 2009 by a couple of more mature MMO (and Tolkien) addicts who have come together after several years of gaming in other peoples' guilds to form their own.  We want our new kinship to be a place where new and old players alike can find a place to call home.  Where high level characters can get a group together to do the high end instances, without someone screaming at them that they broke the latest strategy, or rolled on something they shouldn't have done, or they had to log out in the middle of things because the baby was crying.  A place where people new to the game can ask questions, without being made to feel silly or like they are bothering the "highbees".  We want the Venturers to be a place where the overriding sentiment is a willingness to help others, whether that's with quests, advice or crafting them some better kit.  Above all we want the kinship to be a place where people play to have fun, and play only as long as they are still enjoying it
