Guild Rules
Our Guild's Rule are simple and straightforward and we believe that they will benefit each member and our allies so that we may grow and our members and allies may rely on us and trust the sound judgment of Guild leaders and members. Breach of our Guild's Rules by officers, members, allies or friends may result in corrective action.
Guild Rules
1. Cooperation and goodwill between Guild members is encouraged
2. Treat everyone with respect and don't attack members or our allies
3. Avoid unnecessarily attacking non-allies and non-guild members unless provoked or for good reason (such as inactivity)
4. Guild members will respect the decisions of the MYTH's Council at all times
5. Directions from Council members and officers on our forum and in Guild activities take precedence
6. The Guildmaster and Council agree to respect Guild members and listen to their concerns and questions
7. Poor behavior on the part of the Guildmaster, Council members and officers will not be tolerated.
8. Guild members agree to report any poor behavior towards individuals to the the Guildmaster including the Guildmaster's (hopefully he won't be behaving badly but call him on it if he is) so corrective action can be taken;
9. Drama of any kind is not permitted. If you have issue with a member take it to them first and then to a officer if necessary. Bad mouthing or talking ill of members of the Guild in chat or on our forums is strictly PROHIBITED.
10. Foul or obscene language is strictly prohibited in the forums or chat rooms
These rules may be updated from time to time so make sure you have read them and understand them.

New RSS Options
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
9/2/2010 1:07 PM
Guild admins now have the ability to enable RSS feeds for their guilds that will provide more than just public-level data. Whenever a member of a guild site clicks on any of the RSS links, they are presented with a list of available feeds. If guild admins have checked "Allow Authenticated RSS" in the Control Panel > General Settings > General, the links will contain a key specific to that user, so that when they paste the RSS link into their reader, they will be able to see information that they would be able to see when actually logged into the site.
The reason RSS links now display a page with available feeds instead of directly opening the feed is to prevent accidental copying and pasting of an entire page with the sensitive links in them. Also, when this functionality is enabled, users are warned to never share their specific key with anyone else. Admins who are concerned about this should simply not enable "Allow Authenticated RSS," and all RSS feeds will only display public-level data.
In addition to this new functionality, two new types of feeds have been added: Shouts and Upcoming Events.

In order to satisfy the requests that have been coming in for better forum searching, we have deployed the first part of an entirely new engine. At the moment it is only indexing, building up data from the moment we pushed it. Unfortunately, it will not be going back and retro-actively indexing all posts, since that amounts to exactly 27,511,414 items.
However, it will provide much better search moving forward. We will likely push the front-end for searching (to replace the current forum search) within the next two weeks, and provide an option for "archive searching" if you're looking for posts that are older than the new engine.
Bank and Quests Enhancements
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
8/20/2010 7:06 PM
Guild bank item requests now provide the ability for the person requesting to specify the quantity of the item(s) they are requesting, as well as to which character the item(s) should be delivered.
Quest step completion has been greatly de-ickified (hush, spell checker). Now, when viewing a quest's details, there is a link under each step that, when clicked, will expand a grid. The grid shows all guild characters, is sortable/searchable, and has a check box next to each character's name. Both the owner of a character and a Quest Admin for guild sites are able to check/un-check the box, indicating whether or not that particular character has completed that step in the quest.
A glitch in the one-to-one website chat has been fixed.
Finally, a buncha other things have gone live in response to support tickets.
Have a great weekend!
More Customization, Creeps, and Temporal Shifts
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
8/13/2010 8:52 PM
The nav bar can now be positioned above the banner. It's an increasingly popular look lately, so there you go. The option can be set through Control Panel > Style Tools > Navigation Style > Tab Bar Location.
In addition, right next to the options for the location is a spinner for setting the absolute height (in pixels) of the Nav Bar. Dynamically generated gradient images (with or without gloss) will be regenerated for you to match the new height.
You can now set the spacing between widgets using the spinner found at Control Panel > Style Tools > Content Boxes (Widgets) > Spacing Between Widgets.
Icons for LOTRO "Creeps" guilds, which doesn't in the least mean anything derogatory (they're monsters!) now display in the integrated roster.
Recurring events are back to functioning the way they should.
The Page Options will no longer permit the entry of non-sound files or URLs that point only at web pages.
An issue where a user's time zone preference would switch to something else -- seemingly at random -- has been fixed. We apologize for any temporal shifts and the appearance of any DeLoreans (no, sincerely, we're sorry if any of those have appeared).
Two New Widgets!
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
8/11/2010 5:46 PM
For those who'd like a little more integration between their guild sites and the social networking giants out there, we have added two new widgets: Twitter Feed and Facebook Like.
The Twitter Feed widget lets you tap into any publicly-available Twitter user's feed and display it on your site, just like any other widget. It also comes with some customization options and automatic (without having to refresh the page) updates.
The Facebook Like widget displays a link to visitors which they can click to "Like" your site on Facebook, as well as see how many others have already done so. Regardless of where you place the widget, it's site-level, so place it wherever you want, and the like count will apply everywhere.
WoW Add-On Update
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
8/9/2010 4:47 PM
The GPHelper add-on for WoW has been updated to version 1.60, and addresses a problem where bank item imports were simply adding the items to the running list, without first checking to see if they were there. This resulted in saved variables files that became quite large, and uploading it could result in errors.
Everybody should install the update (a link is available in the Control Panel under WoW Integration), and those who were affected by the errors on upload should be sure to run a "/gph update" (without the quotes) command, in-game.
Calendar and File Manager Updates
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
8/6/2010 6:54 PM
You are now able to specify an end date/time for events, either through the event editor or by viewing the events in weekly agenda view (on the regular, large Calendar widget) and dragging the bottom of the event to a different end time. Note that you can also drag and drop events on the calendar to change days or start times, as well.
The Events List widget, when placed in the center of a page, will now display much like the full calendar, except with only the current week displayed.
Icons for custom event categories will now display at 16x16 pixels, instead of 12x12.
The File Manager has been cleaned up a bit, and multi-file uploads are back. In addition, auto-optimization of JPG images has been improved quite a bit. If you've tried it in the past and were disappointed with the image quality, give it another try!
The Quests widget now lists categories as a selection, instead of just dumping the full list of quests. Got pretty messy there for active questing guilds.
Posting, Applications, and Polls
GuildPortal Change Log Entry
7/30/2010 9:15 PM
A problem with new posts sending you to the home page of your guild site after you were done has been fixed. We cornered the posts and explained to them that they were the ones who got sent, not the other way around. They put up a brief fight, but after a cheap shot, rolled up in a little ball.
When a new user applies to be a member of your guild site, a listing of characters they're signing up with will now be sent along with the mail you normally receive, as well as show up in any automatic forum post you may have configured.
The voting polls admin UI has been updated a bit, and you are now able to edit an already-created poll, so long as no votes have yet been cast for it. If they have, you will only be able to edit the close date and the minimum level to vote on the poll (old votes already cast from those below the new minimum level will remain, however).
The GuildPortal Admin Community (admins.guildportal.com) has had a bit of a make-over, though nothing terribly drastic. Well, except for "The WALL." Beware.
Finally, we believe we've got our maintenance scripts and backups now running on a schedule that should prevent too much overlap, although we're operating on a "wait and see" basis for the moment. If you've been on later in the evening (or early in the morning, depending on which side of the globe you call home), you may have noticed really slow response times or worse. Turns out that nightly full database backups colliding with full index rebuilds causes a bit of a bottleneck! Who knew?
