Welcome and Harken Ye-

Our band is varied from different races and classes, from varied levels of training and disciplines and from different homelands from all over Azeroth but in one thing we are united.

We stand under the banner of the Horde.

Tarry here if you wish to learn more about our clan & cohort.

Answer to the Hourglass is a Medium role-play, social, multi-facet guild on the Sentinels server.  We are Not a Leveling or Raiding guild.  If you solely wish to rush to level we are not the group for you.

We wish to explore all facets of life in Azeroth.  This means while we portray our characters we are questing, working on professions, attaining achievements, participating in the holiday events, exploring the lands or the harsh environments of dungeons or taking up arms & battling in battle fields or in arenas.  Though we are too small a group at present to do raids if there comes a time when our numbers and unity allows it our company shall venture out as a raiding unit.

We encourage helpful companionship in our members for a group that knows each other often fights better when toe to toe with the enemy we face.  Battles won together lead for fun fireside reminiscence in the inns while we rest.

If we interest you have a look at our members & perhaps pen a missive of inquiry to me.

Be well no matter where your travels take you and perhaps our paths may cross.

(Missive on the Iron Spike in the Guild Common Hall)

This is long overdue that I pen this missive. So much has kept me away from my desk.

Well done on Guild rank 12. All of you have worked so hard to gain us this level.  As I looked at the tally boards in Lordaeron I noticed we are nearing the third quarter towards rank 13.  I know that we shall attain that soon as you are all hard workers.

Bravo to Elorii & Lindrael for attaining 85th level of training.
Bravo to all of those who gained their next levels of training. Bravo to those who aided in gaining us guild achieves- by doing it the 'difficult' way..level appropriate. Well done to those of you gaining skills in your professions.
Bravo to the Arena achieve by Fal & Sav. I know you both do not love that discipline so to see you gained it for the guild touched me deeply.

I would like to thank those of you taking that extra step & asking others in guild & blahblah chat if they would join you on dungeon outings.  Often people do dungeon runs alone. To see those of you asking others to join you, whether they can accept your offer or not, makes me proud.  Seeing those of you ask if anyone needs company questing also gladdens my heart.  I have heard from many members & others that they often quest alone. Hearing people extending the offer of this company is a nice way to cure this loneliness & strengthen not only our guild but our neighborhood & server of Sentinels as well.

Your kindness, friendly-helpfulness is one thing, one goal I set for this Guild. I wanted the name of our guild, when seen around the Realm, to be one that made people think of quality & kindness, hardworkers, skillful individuals.  I watch I listen to you all I see that slowly this goal I envisioned is budding &, hopefully, will blossom & not fade.

Speaking of Blossoms, you may have noticed an ongoing grouping of our guild with the guild Ephemerals.  Trilliana & I have been attempting to co-plan outings both guilds can benefit from.  We have had several successful outings under the leadership of Lynore.  'Rhokky' has hosted a few 'old time' raids that many were able to participate in as well.  If you have interest in joining these, feel free to speak to me & Trilliana & I can attempt to add you to the list.  The work of both guilds together can strengthen us both.

I would like to thank Lorii & Lin for hosting outings for "Gearing Up".

A note on cleaning our ranks:
Please 'refresh' your alts once a month. Many have gotten to the inactivity level of 5 months plus. I know life is crazy but I will be attempting to prune the roster soon. I would rather a small family guild over a huge guild full of toons that have not been played 3months plus.
Those whom have informed me of leaves of absence will remain on the list. They are often demoted to Survivor while on leave. This is the 'probation rank' for new members & the inactive rank for those on leave.

Mordainn & her alts will NEVER be removed. She is a member in Memorium due to her passing.
If your alt is removed due to inactivity & you wish to return & there are no 'infractions' commited you would definitely be welcomed back.

I must close this missive & hope I did not forget anything.

Keep questing together, strengthen our family & cohort. Explore, share & laugh with each other.

Be Well in your journeys.

August update
Elennoxx, Aug 8, 11 12:49 PM.

So much has been going on & I am proud to annouce we have reached Guild Rank 11!

Well done to you all.  I know that is a lot of quest time, grinding those dailies for rep, marks & gold but all that grinding & travel time helps us all out.  It is much appreciated by myself. It shows all the ranks of the cohort are pulling together to improve us.

That is why, regardless of your level, you are important. It is why I strongly encourage appropriate level dungeon runs over the lvl 85s doing runs through the lower level instances.  A sense of accomplishment amoung the cohort to me means more that guild achieve points.  I know that may make me sound odd but I want our family members to feel they ALL MATTER.

I commend everyone for not only questing, doing instances & raids but also for taking time to work on their achieves, professions & participate in events around Azeroth.

One such example of why working on your professions matters is the recent cooking guild achieve that gained us the Broiled Dragon Feast. Through all our guild chefs' hard work we are now able to purchase this recipe. This feast can be placed like the fish feast for your dungeon, battlefield or group members to all eat & gain a buff.

The 'current' guild goal is the "That's Alot of Bait' achieve. This is a fishing achieve that will gain the guild the Seafood Magnifique recipe.  Anyone with a fishing pole can do this.  Just fish in a node for it to count.  Ash had suggested fishing rp parties & I agree with him.  I know Bryle & Aenghus had a fishing & mining party already.  A nice way to take a rest from the grinding & depersonalization of our characters which can easily happen when we are so focused on improving our gear.

Bravo goes out to our new level 85s: Arlydi & Ardrash.  Bravo to all those who have gained their next level of training as well.

Also, I have been attempting to schedule things via the guild calender. I ask you check it regularly as well as read the guild message of the day &/or guild news to keep you informed in game.

Thank you all for helping each other out, for being friendly, polite & social with each other.  All these things help to make that Family Feeling I was envisioning for the guild become a reality.

Be well & safe in your journey,
Elennoxx

Guild update July
Elennoxx, Jul 11, 11 11:22 AM.

We have gained the guild rank level 10!

Thank you for all your hard work to make this happen.
You will notice we can purchase new heirloom cloaks-due to rank lvl 9 & now due to the fact we are lvl 10 guild-if you use flasks from a battle cauldron it will double their lenght by 50%. I noticed this in a raid yesterday. Normal time for my flask went from one hour to 2.  Quite nice if the raid has a cauldron as Flasks for lvl 85's can be quite pricey.

Tre has contacted me concerning his ongoing 'issues'.  Please take the time to look at the AFK forum so you can be informed. Review our chat channel policies as well.

With the opening of the Firelands there are now new quest chains, the Thrall quest chain offers insight to Lore as well as a new option for a better cloak.  There are new dailies in Mt. Hyjal.  Again great for new lore, dailies money income, achieves & the possibility of a few new items you can acquire.

Sometimes you may see "firelands trash/rep' runs.  These runs, if you take part in them, allow you to build some rep with a new faction much like the Ashen Verdict faction was in Icecrown.  The rep vendor can be located at Sulfurion Spire in Hyjal both inside & outside the raid instance.  Trash runs also have a rare possibility to drop an epic piece of gear or pattern for crafting. If you participate in a 'pug' run be sure you know the loot rules so as not to offend others in your group.  Your actions out in the 'world' reflect the reputation of the cohort & your guild brothers & sisters.

Be aware that the trash packs a punch.  It is ill advised to try to enter the zone without at least a item gear rating of 355.  This gear rating is not an elitist reflection on anyones' skills it is a fact that your gear quality may allow you to survive & perform a bit better.

New Raids- both in the Firelands & a new boss in Baradin Hold.  Though we are not a Raiding guild, its nice to know what is going on around us.  Should we ever have enough people in the guild who are gear, schedules matching, research done..etc, perhaps one day we can go out as a family group to do a raid.  At present, however, all the factors are not present.

For those who Pvp- New season 10 honor gear is available.  The new arena season has already begun so in turn new conquest gear will be available for purchase.

New tier 12 gear is available at the valor vendor as well as other new epics.  This will mean back to the dungeon outings for myself.  I hate travelling alone so any who wish to join me..your company is beyond welcomed.  I know many people also may enjoy company as questing alone can get lonely.  Perhaps ask your fellow guildies if they may like company.  Travelling together builds a stronge guild & you also have an opportunity to RP while you explore & quest.

Big Grats go out to Jinks for reaching lvl 85 & to all of you in the ranks who have reached your next ranks of training.

Again, thank you for all of your hard work.

Midsummer Fire Festival
Elennoxx, Jun 22, 11 1:07 PM.

Its that time of year again, Fire Festival.
Take a break from your questing to be part of the events of the world. It often adds to your rp & great memories.

For me & my family the festival marks many anniversaries due to having done just what I mentioned above.

I will be running the Holiday boss daily on myself & any alts who can do so. If you are able to fight this boss & would like to do so & I am available, just ask in OCC Chat or Guild chat.

That goes for most things by the way.  Asking if others need help, would like to run instances, do a bg or company in either of these chats is always nice.  People may not need help 95% of the time but your willingness to offer aid or company is always appreciated. It also shows that you are fostering the guild family feeling.  I know I enjoy the feeling of comraderie & I like to hear the people are 'buddying up' to help one another.

Achieves for this festival are often difficult so having someone go with you is often helpful. Some achieves for this festival are boring as a box of rocks so having someone with you may make them less boring.

Many times doing things in a group will provide points for the guild, guild challenges met if the dungeon is in your toon's level.  These points gain help the guild in bringing us closer to the next level of Guild ranking.

Currently we stand at Guild level 8.  That gave us a Hasty Hearth.  15 minute hearthstone cooldown is very nice.  Guild rank 9 will give us more resilience to our gear when we die. Specifics on that I am not sure of exactly but check your guild rewards page.

The guild recently earned Cataclysmic Dungeon Hero- & we gained a battlestandard. The standard can be used to help you gain experience & honor points if used on bg's & fighting monsters & bosses.

Thank you all for your roleplay. I have seen you doing more of it.  Remember you don't need a structured event to roleplay. Roleplay goes on all the time in this guild.  Perhaps roleplay with someone you might not normally...we do all come to the guild common tower so it shouldn't be too difficult.

Thank you for all your hard work.
Keep doing what you do & get to know your brothers & sisters in the guild...it will only make us stronger.
