One of our few runs that doesn't feature pie.

It features, instead, a nice hiking park with a fantastic batholith of granite known as Enchanted Rock. It's easy to see why its called that. It's a bit of a stomp to get to the top, but beautiful for all that. I may actually climb the OTHER rock this time, as I have always climbed the main rock. I'll take a camera so I can get shots of y'all on the big rock.

Here's the Route (we'll be going counter-clockwise). We'll head up through Dripping Springs, past 290 to Fitzhugh (trivia: one of our earliest rides, when Glenn was buying us coffee in Dripping Springs, a lady told us this was the road to ride to Johnson City. So, we'll see). Take 281 N from Johnson City to 1323 west. 1323 ends on our old friend RT16 (featured in our last ride, though a different stretch of it). We'll turn right, go up to 965 west which takes us to the park. As I recall, the scenery is fantastic. On the way home we'll continue 965 down to Fredericksburg, take 290 from there to 1376 which connects us to Lukenbach and food. Then return by our normal route down 1888 to Blanco, 281, 311, and home (with some connecting bits).

It was a good ride out to Enchanted Rock. Neat to see the approach from the East, which I'd not done. You can see the rock from further off, and a great prospect.

We were joined by Jeremy and John.

The park was too full, there was a long, long slow line to get in, so we just continued riding instead of trying to wait and climbing up the hill. Which was just as well, considering when we got home.

Here's a pic of our bikes all lined up in Dripping Springs, the first leg of the ride.

Last leg was in Lukenbach, with the colorful rooster next to Nightshade, and Jeremy's Electra Glide.
