I'd like to recommend making a simple change to the way archived news is handled.  The current system isn't very user friendly.  When viewing archived news, every time I click an article the entire page is reloaded, meaning you have to scroll back down the long list of archived news to find the next article, somehow always keeping in mind where you were and finding the correct "next" or "previous" article... only to have the page reloaded, and then scroll down to find the next, etc...

Seems to me it would be a lot easier to use, less code, fewer reloads, and more intuitive, if there was just a link at the bottom of the currently displayed 20 (or whatever) news items to "older news" which then reloads the page showing the previous 20 news items, again with a link at the bottom to load the previous 20, etc...

This would make browsing older news less of a pita, more like the way the rest of the interweb works, and thus more likely people might take the time to browse the old news archives.

If you've ever actually watched someone trying to browse old news archives with the current guildportal system, you'll see they stop after clicking one or two items, put off by how inconvenient it is to figure out where they were in the long list to "browse" the older news items...
