All forum posts are tied directly to the person's user id. Many of my members like to role play in forum posts as well as in game. Could we get a set of radio buttons when posting to the forum that would allow a person to select one of their characters that are a member of the guild as the author of that post? I was thinking we could have a signature, title and thumbnail image tied to each character to allow forum posts "in character".I get frequent questions about this and have some members now considering creating additional GP user ids so each character has their own identity in our forums. I'd like to be able to give them a way to do this without creating multiple user ids.Thanks.

I also would like this feature with the addition that you could set a default character.  My clan doesn't role play but some have either switched to a new primary character after joining guild portal or were already using guild portal before for another game and another character before coming to my guild and so many of the names don't match anymore.

This would be very helpful indeed. I personally have 3 separate GP login's for this reason & it does get to be a pain to switch between them constantly.

I'd love to be able to do this - we RP a lot and my RP character isn't my Guild Leader character.
Perhaps the characters could have individual signatures in their bios screen and we could somehow select a character when posting. Then maybe started the post with "[ name ] character says" and finish it with their sig instead of the posters, whilst still keeping the default 'who posted' stuff, on the left? Although I like the idea of simply having multi-id's as well from the original post... Either would be fantastic and we'd certainly make good use of it.
I actually ended up setting my RP character up as a separate GP login in the end to get round it

I have 3 guild portal ids because of this issue as well, if we were able to get a feature like this, I'd  be able to eliminate using mutiple IDs.

This is a great idea. In Mortis Gladius on Xev, I'm known as Wiltan. It's probably confusing to some of the folks in Legendary Bloodlines on Maelin, where my main in that guild is Kobayashii. I'd hate to set up a new guildportal account, edit security for it on both sites (must have superadmin rights on both, you know ), and then have to switch accounts (and most likely forgetting to do so on a regular basis) when I switch sites.

Besides, if I created a new account, I'd lose my kickass post count, and we can't have that, can we?

How about the option to have multiple signatures, with a drop-down when you post listing them all?  The reason I'm asking is because we couldn't restrict the character's name to just one person across the board.

Edit: Or is that what you're asking for, and I just haven't had enough coffee yet??

Sounds like thats half what has been asked...

Right now there is no way that I could POST this as my Character Manci (who is evil and unsociable) but your suggest would be that  I could put a sig that said I was Manci   To me that would be a partial fix.

Wonder what others think.. To me it seems the simplest solution..

Simple and since we couldn't say that a given character name can belong to only one person across all games and servers, actually having the character name show as the poster would make it easy for someone to also say they have a character with the same name, copy your signature, and then post as you.

Ah, I didn't think of the duplicate character name issue. I see the need to leave the GP user id as it is on the posts. I would like to select one of my characters when I post and have 3 pieces of information tied at each of my characters:1) thumbnail (which appears on the left below by GP user id)2) title (which also appears on the left below by GP user id)3) signature (which appears at the bottom of my messageVery few of my guild members use signatures, but everyone uses a thumbnail. I believe the thumbnail and title would provide the character identification that our folks want.Thanks.
