Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to
this post

Signup Status Color v5
by Mottie
Description
This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:
*Note: this is an old screenshot, but the code still works

We are looking at re-do some parts of our built-in Raid Point/DKP system and want some input! What did we do right, (and need not to change), and what would you like to see changed?
Also when you reply please say what game you play, as some games have different systems.

Fingers of Fury!
Game: Everquest II:
Overall, the dkp system is a good one but a couple of things I would like to see changed are:
The ability for an admin to designate the raid toon(s) that a member can sign up. I other words, we don't accept alt signup on our main page, so we would like to restrict it to the main raiding char and only that one can be signed up on the event page. Perhaps event by event with an option to set as default for certain types of raids.
Something I've been trying to fix but have had no luck with so far is the ability to remove some of the test dates I had set up when I was testing the calendar. They have been included in member raid attendance, rendering that function useless. I would like to see a way to delete them. I know there are boxes with check marks but they're all grayed out.
Recent drops: I am new to this and probably overlooked something but I don't see a way to make the drop an actual clickable link to an item description.
Those are the things that spring immediately to mind. I'll add if I think of more.

I'm only just getting to grips with the raid points system. We've managed ours by hand for years, with the aid of scraps of paper.
The two things our point allocation requires which Guild Portal doesn't supply are:
Points per toon, not just per player
Multiple categories for points, so that we can more than one raid, each with its own points allocation.
What would be nice (but is less important) would be able to record that the cost of an item was a fraction of the persons total points, so we could put in 25%, and have the system calculate this (in practice, for minor drops, we use "25%, or at least 10 points", but a full specification for that might be over complicated, and we can manage the "or at least" manually).

We gave a member -3 points in the points box, checked the "attended" box which autosaved, but they were attributed 0 points rather than negative. We tried to do the same thing for another member without checking the "attended" box but hit the "save and exit" button at the bottom of the window, but the result was still the same. Do we have to enter negative points manually from now on? If so, that is okay, but if not, please advise. Thanks!

Please Alter the "Confirm All" Behavior
Our Lord of the Rings Online guild raids regularly and like to confirm those folks who are going. The way the admin's "Confirm All" link currently works makes it
unusable most of the time
, forcing us to confirm folks one at a time, which is laborious AND defeats the purpose of the link.
Currently, "confirm all" confirms everyone listed as available,
including those marked as wait list
. So, if we have 15 signed up as available for a 12-person raid (3 extra), we normally put the extras on the wait list. If I do that, then hit "confirm all". those "wait list" members are now marked as "confirmed"! If I DON'T put them on the wait list, all 15 who signed up as "available" will now be marked as "confirmed"!
So, add anyone marked as "wait list" to the other groups (tentative and cancelled) that will not be marked as "confirmed" when I hit "confirm all". That way, I can set our extras as "wait list", then hit "confirm all" to confirm everyone else.
Thanks!

It's been about a month and a half. I was wondering if there is any word on a fix for this?

Also, the signup list should show the class and level of the character being signed up with. I am currently using a script of Mottie's to do this but it really should be built in to Guildportal.

Since some games allow you to play more than one role, it would be magnificant if we could sign-up a "primary role" and an "alternate" role (or make it an optional setting in the control panel). Please, please, pretty please!

Thanks for the updates that went out yesterday. Any word on some of the things posted here that were not able to be included?

The ideas in this thread will be used to build an overall DKP management system that'll have its own area in the Control Panel. It'll most likely be released in stages.
I don't see any problem with it including what's been discussed so far... Except the sign-ups thing including character fields. That's outside DKP altogether. Not saying it won't happen (although the sign-ups table is pretty cluttered as it is), but it's not what this thread's about.
