Ok, so we have this great Event Calendar that can be used for multiple things.

One of the things that I have started using it for is to show the birthdays of my members so we can all remember to wish them a Happy Birthday.

However, when you go into Event Management to do Attendance or anything else, there's a million and 1 Events because I have all these Birthdays on there.

So what I was thinking is this.

When an Event is created there could be a check-mark you can click to make it a recurring/non-recurring non-game Event.  These non-game Events (I can't think of a good term to call them.  Can't say Birthdays cause people could use it for marking Holidays like July 4th or for marking days when new patches come out for their game or something) would not show up in the list of Past or Present Events when you open the Guild Management tool.  There would probably be a link for the non-game Events so we could Edit them too.  But that way we wouldn't have to scroll through a million things to find the ones we need to make notes/attendance etc... on.

What would be really cool was if we could specify whether we wanted to add an in-game or non-game Event and if it was a non-Game event, then it would have a totally different box for adding it.  Maybe where you could have a little image (like a flag for 4th of July or Balloons for a Birthday etc...) to it as well.

Also, if you are able to do this, it would really be appreciated if you gave us a content type for our Main Page or whatever that showed all the non-game Events for a particular day/week/month (I don't care, any will work, though I personally would prefer week or month for this type of Event) like the Small Event Calendar does (maybe let the tiny pictures show up next to the links or something to make it easy to visually tell a birthday from a holiday).

Anyways, just a thought.  I realize this is a "Guild Management" site, but personally, my guild is my family.  I want them to think of each other as family as well.  Something like this with the Birthdays and what not would go a long ways towards bringing us closer together.

This is basically what I was asking for in my Non-Joinable Events thread.  I'd like to be able to add things to the calendar like birthdays and notices without them being something you can sign up for and track.  They would still show on the calendar page and could appear as new content on the main page.

That would be nice, but have it be optional for GMs b/c i think some ppl dont want it on their calendar (i wouldnt mind!)
