I was looking over the FAQ and saw that subscribing guilds get 5MB of storage for their site. This would be more than enough for art & banners and such for us, and I had a few questions about it.

1. Is there a bandwith limitation per month?
2. Can it be used for anything used on the site? Borders, Banners, sigs, music, avatars, misc images, etc?
3. Would the download speeds be faster than going through Imageshack or photobucket for art?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks, can I get a more in-depth answer to question 1 please? Like what is the bandwith limitation per month? Thanks!

Fingers of Fury!

Several people have had issues with the images from their site not being available due to bandwidth issues, security concerns (hacking), and other reasons I'm sure that I'm too much of a noob to know.

I use Earthlink for my ISP and they give me 1GB of webspace free with my account.

Really anything is faster than photobucket or imageshack.

Check to see if your ISP gives you anything you can use.

As far as I know you can download up to 5MB in 1 day if you wanted to but its maxed out at 5MB. All the pictures on my web sight and then some add up to 2MB

NemesisX.Guildportal.com

I would recomend using JPG as they are less memory.

Thanks

Thanks for all the advice.

Star, I have AT&T/SBC/Ma Bell and they offer 1gb of storage. I just tried it out and they change the links around constantly so I can't direct link anything. Sucks!

Ihmstine, my main concern relates to other "image hosting sites", where you can upload a certain amount, but over the course of the month you are restricted on bandwith, or the number of times the images are accessed. Have you experienced any "Bandwith exceeded" issues since you've been using Axiom?

Thanks everyone!

I found it works best for our site to divy the images between different providers. Granted it makes it complicated when you update/change images, but it reduces the load on bandwith if you just just one. We do get a lot of hits though. Our guild is full of forum campers.

I've noticed GP's hosting is slower then an external ISP's.
