I suggest that the member count only counts people at the site with lvl 3 access or above... Noticing that associates are counted as members...

I prefer it the way it is.  Our members go through a trial period during which they have associate access.  They are still members of our guild, we just mark them as associates for ease of tracking.

I do not like the "unapproved" count..There are members who say were in our guild..who left. Instead of deleting them when they leave, I will often just put them back as Public. That way they do not have to redo an application should they come back and they dont see the Join message (to best of my knowledge). There is a difference between unapproved and public. Simply changing "Unapproved" to "Public" members would suffice and would be much more representative of the situation in either case (whether they are waiting for approval or have been demoted)

To continue on that thought... it would be nice if we could use our own terms for the various levels of access.  This would allow you to change “unapproved” to “public”. It would allow me to change the levels to “public” (currently Unapproved), “members” (currently Associates), “junior officers” (currently Members), & “senior officers (currently Officers).

We have JOs listed as members to keep them out of the SO forums w/o the SOs having to enter a password to read the SO forums -and- so JOs can't see the thread names for what is in the SO forums.

Given the fact that marking someone as Super Admin gives them the permission to royally screw up the site and remove others' permissions when they shouldn't be able to, I'm definitely not going to make the SOs = Super Admins. As it is, I have to have our CRO marked as a Super Admin just so he'll receive the applications, and I do not like that option.  But that's posted in another thread under Features here.

For my Linkshell (Guild) we have associates that come along with us on some events and help us out on things, but are not part of our LS (Guild).  So they do not need to be on our Members List.  I put a couple players as associate and checked my List so I had to put them back down to the lowest lv.

If they are associates and not in Guild (Linkshell) and put on the roster then maybe they should be tagged as such.  As an associate under their name

Maybe something like that.

Yes it might be good for some Guilds (Linkshells) but on FFxI it's completely different.  If a person is an associate, he/she only associate with the Linkshell and is not part of the Linkshell.  So he/she shouldn't be on the Roster, unless they are pointed out as such.  I have went to my rosters and saw peoples that we associate with on my roster and I didn't understand until I looked at their status.

Overall, if an associate is going be designated as such then hopefully he/she will be reconized as such also.
