Hi.  I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but it looks the most general one, so here I go.

I am the controller of a FFXI Guildportal website, and by that I mean, I created it, paid for the subscription, moderate all the forums, etc, so am very protective of what I've done for my linkshell.

The concern I have is, to use the guild point system I need to make other members "super admin" and by doing this, it gives them rights to change their own admin settings for things like page settings and membership.  I am worried that my own access could be taken away from me because of this.

After all the hard work and real life money I've put into this Guildportal site, at the end of the day these are people I only know over the internet and I'd be mighty mighty mad if it was all to be "stolen" from me.

A similar thing happened a couple of years back, when I was running a DAoC site for a guild I helped set up.  I gave one of the members admin access to approve members, and he removed me.  I didn't care too much, because the site was very basic back then, and the guild wasn't mine, but it's always been in the back of my mind.

I would like to suggest that the access levels be changed, perhaps make approval of membership and the guild point system an officer level function instead of a super admin.

I'd appreciate feedback on this.

Thanks for reading!

When points are added for attending raids and hunts. They are added in the membership section, for example 10 points for attending a certain raid.

Hmmm so you want them to be able to edit their own raid points?

No.I would like to suggest that the access levels be changed, perhaps make approval of membership and the guild point system an officer level function instead of a super admin.Basically, I don't want to have to make other members super admin because they can change other settings. I want a designated officer to be able to approve membership and allocate raid points without getting all the other benefits of amending page settings etc.

raid points , drops and atendance are assigned in events calendar , when editing the raid after the fact , you can even upload and parse a dump file , there is no reason to go to member page and edit as you posted in your example , and my officers manage events just fine without super admin status

Ohh, I didn't know that, having never really looked at events in any detail.  Thanks, I'll check it out.
