Fagulhas (Guild Admin) 7/29/2008 6:09 AM EST : Changing .hr tag to display a image?

Currently guildportal horizontal rule is just a simple 1px line. Since the quote code of the forum uses 2 HR to separate the content, sometimes it gets a bit "crowded" with loads of borders. I was thinking of setting the  HR as a image so i would appear way cleaner and sexier.

My current problem is that any kind of code doesn't work. I've been able to change colors, border size etc etc, but when i insert the image, it just displays blank. The actual image is there since it gets loaded, but can't really see it.

Anyone got a clue on a clean code to make this possible?

Thanks in advance

A little bump on this question.

Another thing i would like to change, guildportal recently added a feature that displays under a post your characters associated with your account. Is there a way to hide it? Currently we use the member title to display that kind of info plus its hard to manage since every user needs to enter that info. Any tips would be great.

Also would like to thank everyone involved in this forum creating and sharing 5 star additions to the normal guildportal themes.

You can have a peek at the new theme we just created here -> Knights of Ni!

LOL wow that was fun,

I tried a few things that didn't work, and might I add, YAY for differences between browsers!... then I found this article.

It seems kind of silly, but they wrap the <hr> with a <div>... I would have just gone with the <div> alone, but hey this works.

I used your bottom border as the horizontal bar image just to test it. {
  background: url( center center repeat-x;
} hr {
  display: none;

and I'll have to spend a little more time working on the character lists at the bottom of the forums... every post has a different ID! *smack head*... so this CSS will hide the word "Character" in the top post only, but not all the names.

#ctl00_ContentPlaceHolder1_ctl01_MessageRepeater_ctl01_lblToonCell { display: none; }

Odd somehow the current code ain't working and now it just appears as a gray line. Tried it in a test site to see if there was some CSS conflict, but same result.

Nevermind, tried the code with a different way and its working now, tweaking it and posting the results soon.

This did it for me

hr {
background: url( no-repeat;
height: 2px;
border: 0 none;

Removed some alignments i didn't needed. This works lovely in in IE...not really. Hurray for cross-browser support.
