I think either I broke something or something changed at GP. Here is my site which uses all style sheets.

Tempest

When you go to the site everything looks fine but watch when the actual page loads even though the background color is set to black there is a white flash in the background that is very jarring and annoying. Go to the other pages and you will see this as well. If you don't try ctrl-F5.

I hope I am not going crazy and am the only one who can see this but if I am not it makes the site look bad plus like I said its annoying and weird on the eyes. The site should always have a black background so there is not flash in between the loading of the page and the display of the background image.

Actually the flash of white you are seeing is my fault *hang head*... it's from the random background image script. Look in that script for the line below and add the color that I've highlighted in red and that should fix your problem.
