Is there a way to keep the editor from adding break tags between my paragraph tags?

Example:
<p>I write the following in code view</p>
<p>And something else in another paragraph</p>

and it looks great but when I save I have massive space between my paragraphs and the source code chesk shows it looks like this:
<p>I write the following in code view</p>
<br />
<p>And something else in another paragraph</p>

But when I reopen the post and look at the code view there are no break tags.

So my question is this, is there a way to stop this behavior and have the code rendered properly?

Hi Hereka!

That's very odd... I never use the paragraph tag, but one way to get around this problem is to put everything in one line, like this:
<p>I write the following in code view</p><p>And something else in another paragraph</p>
Doing this should make it render properly, But I still don't know a way to fix it.

Thank Mottie, I shall try that. Though it will make code view a bear to read, if it works then I am all for it. **sigh** Now to go back over all my posts and re-format. *grins**

BTW, a big thank you for all your help on these forums, I have read many of your posts and you are generous and patient with your knowledge and time. Just wanted you to know that.

Hi Hereka,

something i also use is :
<SHIFT>+<ENTER> for soft returns
and just <ENTER> for hard returns.

one of em makes the <br/> the other creates the <p></p> construction.
Its different in editors but most of the times works.

Not sure if you where looking for something like this or if it might help out.

Else just stay with what Mottie says (or a combination of the 2),
using the html-view usually clears up a lot of confusion one gets with setting the layout correct.

Greetings,

Ortahr.
