Forgive me if this sounds noobish, but here it goes:

I want to create a page that is linked off of another page, and not linked in the navigation tab bar.  Is there a way to do this?  It seems that whenever you create a new Site Page, there is no option to disable the Tab Button completely.

Is there any way to create daughter pages without having them appear with a navigation tab?

Well, I tried something and it seems to work: I used a 1px X 1px image for both the inactive and active button, and I set the Display Order to 99 - making it the last "tab" to appear on the Tab Bar. It is not completely "hidden", only really really hard to see and to click on

But the question I have is, why would you want to link a page from another page on your site ?

The main reason is to clear up clutter on my navigation tab bar.  For members, I currently have 10 tabs at the top of the bar, so adding any more would add more clutter and take up precious page space (especially since I'm trying to appeal to a minimum resolution of 1024 x 768 for some of our members).

Adding daughter pages to main pages might be a good solution for this problem.  I don't have any concrete plans yet, but it would give me more options, and help increase ease of page navigation for future page design.

Thanks for your tip  It sounds like the easiest work-around with the existing GP design.

I think this would make for an excellent feature request.  Put it in!

Take a look at this custom tab bar... you can basically hide the standard navigation bar and replace it with tabs of your choosing.

Thanks, this looks cool!  Advanced for sure, but I am a fast learner.  I'll see how I can use this to spruce up my site!

Worst case scenario is that I revert the banner area to what it was before

Also, I remembered that the Library content box is a good place to make daughter pages
