Hello,

I am very new to the Guild Portal community and even more of a novice when it comes to anything involving html, flash, etc . . .

So today I made a flash movie for the banner on my guild portal page Death Cult Legion and I'm happy with it except I wanted the background in the banner area to be black instead of the background that is currently there.  I do however want to retain the default background in all other areas.  Is there any simple way of doing this?

I also have another question that I'm guessing will be a bit more "tricky".  When you first enter the site the banner movie plays...fine.  But when you click on any of the other pages on my site the movie plays again...and again when you click on another area of the site.  I'm guessing there is no way to have the movie play once then remain static as you move around the site?

Thanks from a noob!

Chris

I don't think the background for the banner area is built into the site style editor. So you'll probably have to add it to your Custom StyleSheet. Just add the following to your Custom StyleSheet:
.BannerArea{ background: #000000; }
BUT, before you add this, please make sure you read this post about adding CSS.

Thanks,

I'll have to look into this, although I've never made a CSS I guess its time to learn that to.  Right now I haven't messed around with the CSS options on the guildportal settings page.  I'll go check out your link before I do...

Thanks!

Ok I've copied the code on my homepage on GP.  The thing I'm trying to get rid of and replace with a black background is the line:

{background: url('http://www.axiomfiles.com/images/ThemeGfx/backgroundblackstone.jpg')

Here is the entire code do I just remove that url reference and it will get rid of the background image and replace it with sold black?

Thanks and here is the copied code:

<style type="text/css">html, body, div, p, td, form, img, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, input, select {font-family: Verdana,Tahoma,Segoe,sans-serif;font-size: 9pt;}body {background: url('http://www.axiomfiles.com/images/ThemeGfx/backgroundblackstone.jpg');background-color: #000000;}form {padding: 3px;border: none;}img { border: none; }hr { color: #990000; }.TabBar {margin: 0px;padding: 0px;}.SelectedTab {background-color: #000000;color: #FFFFFF;border: solid 1px #990000;border-color: #990000;text-align: center;padding: 2px;}.UnSelectedTab {background-color: #000000;color: #FFFFFF;border: solid 1px #990000;text-align: center;cursor: pointer;padding: 2px;}.UnSelectedTabMo {background-color: #000000;color: #FFFFFF;border: solid 1px #990000;border-color: #990000;cursor: pointer;text-align: center;padding: 2px;}.MoGridRow{background-color: #990000;

Actually, you shouldn't have to remove that background image - it's for the entire page. Adding the "BannerArea" CSS will only effect the banner area box that contains the flash movie.

So you shouldn't have to delete or replace anything, just add the CSS I gave ya in my last post.

Ok will do, and thanks again.  Now for the very scary move of messing with the CSS sheets.
