Fingers of Fury!

I'm going to be switching to this on my main site soon so i figured i'd run some tests on a test site first.

Here is the test site: http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=288705&TabID=2421446

Couple of problems:

First off the "Site Pages" Text gets pushed under the center BG somehow, i wanted to push it down due to it showing up on the edge of the top border which looks very out of place.

Second, since the GP update now the tiles of "Account" "Site Admin" have the default news bar BG (the gold bar) which i do not want, can i edit that image individually?

Third, on my main site "testament.guildportal.com" there is this huge gap above my banner image that i'd like to get rid of.

Also, are there any posts with a list of changes GP added?

Another thing i've noticed, and this is with forum topic title bars.. check this out:

http://testament.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?ForumID=1337753&PostCount=3&GuildID=285452&TabID=2394639

Now instead of one bar that goes across the entire field, each individual field has it's on BG.. thats nice for customization, but i'd like ti back how it used to be.

Hey Avandius!

Update these two lines in your CSS (new stuff in blue)... the stuff in PageWrapper centers the content with Firefox
.PageWrapper {text-align: center; width: 1125px;margin-left:auto; margin-right:auto;}
.LeftContentZone .ContentBoxTitle { background-color: transparent; color: #daca92; font-weight: bold;text-size: 16pt;text-align:left; position: relative; top: 25px; left:20px;white-space: nowrap;max-width:225px; z-index:10;}
Then to get rid of the gold bar, add this line in the CSS:
.LeftContentZone .ContentBoxBody2 .ForumCategoryHeader {background: url();}
I looked at your main site and didn't see much of a gap with Firefox, but did see it with IE... not sure if you want to mess with it since it seems the only way to move stuff up is to use relative postioning of the banner...

Thanks alot Mottie!

That helped a bit, what exactly does Z-index do?

Any idea what to do about the repeating title BG under forum title cells? Check this out:

http://testament.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?ForumID=1337750&PostCount=31&GuildID=285452&TabID=2394639

Hmm i think the gap is there to represent where the horizontal sign in tab would be if i had it set up that way.. I see some other sites and they seemed to have worked around it.

Namely Crit Happens or Old School. Though these do use the horizontal navigation, Old School also uses left content box navigation.

I suppose i just need to find a way to implement some art in there to go better with the theme.

Also, the Zindex to make the Site Pages Text show up, doesnt always work.. still falls underneath some times and the formmating is off.. is there a way just to hide those title lines? So it doesnt display "Site Pages" "Accounts" "Admin"?

Z-Index Definition (from W3Schools):

Definition

The z-index property sets the stack order of an element. An element withgreater stack order is always in front of another element with lower stackorder.

Note: Elements can have negative stack orders.

Note: Z-index only works on elements that have been positioned (eg position:absolute;)!

The tooltip that pops up has a z-index of 100 - look at the definition in "#dhtmltooltip"

I'm not sure where you wanted to keep the gold bar, so just add a "tr" (in blue) in front of the "ForumCategoryHeader"... if that's not where you wanted it, then try "td"

tr.ForumCategoryHeader {border: none;background: url(http://i194.photobucket.com/albums/z13/gythawen/Testament/topicbar.jpg) right no-repeat; height:27px; width:621px; }

Ahh! So zindex would be representing the depth of the page. Alot like layers. Gotcha that makes perfect sense.

"td" did the trick thanks.

Working on the banner being at the top on my test site.. so far so good.
