Im not sure why, but some of my members are complaining to me they cant post in the forums area.  I have not taken any steps to block them from posting, and no where in the members list does it give the option to radio check whether or not they can post or not post.  Any ideas as to why the site isnt letting them post?

Thanks again.

It's possible that you have some forums set up as "officer forums".

A person won't be able to post if they are not logged into their GP acct.

If you go to a forum after logging out and visit any of your Public ranked forums, the Reply button will not be there.

Nope its just not saving the posts at all.  My members are members of my guild and therefore have member status or higher.  No reason why they cant post at all.  Any ideas?

You didn't address either of the situations we stated, LOL.

1) They may have membership status, but it doesn't matter if they're not logged in.

2) They may have membership status, but it doesn't matter if the forums were accidentally set as officer forums. If they were set as officer forums, only the admins and people you specifically set as officers would be able to view and post.

So, they can see the forums then?

If they can see the Reply button, click it, write up a post, click Save, and not have it added to the thread, then I'm not sure. I'm guessing you are not seeing this problem yourself?

I tried doing some tests with cookie and ad blocking and I was still able to post normally and could not repeat your issue. I tested it on both IE7 and Firefox using a PC.

Check with those who are having problems and find out what browser/OS combo they are using. If you find similarities, there may be a compatibility issue and you should fill out a Support form (link at top and bottom of this page) and let GP's techs know about it.

Ohhhh, I just remembered a problem I had several months ago when I added a TS Viewer script on my Forums page that made it impossible to Save a post. It blocked ANYONE including myself. I changed it to another Viewer that doesn't do that.

That's why I asked it you had seen the problem yourself. If you have some 3rd party scripts running on your Forums page, you may want to temporarily remove them to see if the issue clears up.

I had this issue when I added a theme selector to my guild site. I had some members complaining that they couldn't save a post. I later found out it was only doing this with Internet Explorer but not Firefox. I ended up removing the theme selector, but I thought it was working again. I don't have a link to your site, so I don't know what's on it.

Would the WoW Intergration be a problem?  I liked the fact I could use it instead of manually putting in my guilds roster.  Both Gnaught and Lokrien say they are signed into their GP accounts while trying to make posts.  Gnaught specifically described to me as logging in, going to the forums, clicking reply, typing out a long and verbose response, clicked save, and it just never posted (his words hah).  Gnaught uses IE 7 as well.  Gnaught just got promoted to an officer so we will see how it goes for him when he gets back from vacation.

But before Gnaught logged off he said that he was able to post a few days ago once, then after that he was not able to post at all.  And as far as the officers only forum - I triple checked the settings and theyre all appropriate for each subject within the forum.

Update:  Gnaught has arrived safely in California, and agrees that it is definitely a IE7 problem.  He is currently installing Firedog (I think he meant Firefox shrug) and he is posting and happy as a Paladin after winning in a battleground ^-^.

Ive sent a ticket, I hope they can fix the IE7 issues.
