I am almost 100% sure, or after all this searching more like 80%, that there is a place I can enter the url for a background image behind the tabbed images. However it is hiding from me and refuses to come out. Can one of you point me to it? I won't tell him it was you, don't worry.

I hate these moments when I know something is there... but I just can not seem to find it.

Hi bhFranka!

I don't think there is a setting in the control panel for it (I also looked and couldn't find it), but you can just use CSS to add it as well
.TabBar {
 background: url(BACKGROUND IMAGE URL) repeat-x 0 0;
 height:59px;
 margin:5px auto;
I don't remember if you are using Custom CSS or not, if you are then just add that CSS above into the Custom CSS, if not, then add <style> above it and </style> below it and put the whole thing into your footer HTML.

It does not seem to be working for me. I tried both of the following two.

<style type="text/css">
    .ContentBoxtitleNoBackground {
    text-align: left;
    position: relative;
    top: -10px;
    left: 5px;
    }
    .TabBar {
    background: url(http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii69/FallenWolve333/BH%20Buttons/imagesbackground.gif) repeat-x 0 0;
    height:59px;
    margin:5px auto;
    }
</style>

And

<style type="text/css">
    .ContentBoxtitleNoBackground {
    text-align: left;
    position: relative;
    top: -10px;
    left: 5px;
    }
</style>
<style>
    .TabBar {
    background: url(http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii69/FallenWolve333/BH%20Buttons/imagesbackground.gif) repeat-x 0 0;
    height:59px;
    margin:5px auto;
    }
</style>

In case it matters the image I am trying to use is one of 75x72 dimensions. I tried entering that number into the height for both as well. Is it something conflicting with the content box code?

EDIT: It is definitely the two conflicting. I tried to use the nav code without the text tab code and it worked.

Hiya!

Yeah sorry, I forgot to mention you needed to set the height of the image in the CSS... combining the two pieces of CSS into one style shouldn't make a difference - I just looked at your site and the Tab bar CSS is chopped off and it doesn't look like you have a lot of information in there that would cause that, so try pasting this into your footer HTML with nothing else.
<style type="text/css">
.ContentBoxtitleNoBackground {
 text-align: left;
 position: relative;
 top: -10px;
 left: 5px;
}
.TabBar {
 background: url(http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii69/FallenWolve333/BH%20Buttons/imagesbackground.gif) repeat-x 0 0;
 height:72px;
 margin:5px auto;
}
</style>

Damn! For the second time It has given me an error after I made a long past and twice my copy before posting did not work!

I will give you the short version. I said "Congratulations on your 2000th post" then I thanked you for giving me as much time as you have yada yada. Then as I was posting the code and about to submit it I decided to check my footer one last time. I noticed half of it was missing. You also said before that half of it was missing. This leads me to believe that my content is not being fully displayed, or in other words the code is being cut short. My question was "I know free sites have a limited amount of displayable footer text, does this apply to html as well?" Then I clicked submit and died a little inside because it said "Your post was not saved, because it contained invalid HTML elements (such as BODY, HTML, etc.) that would preventproper rendering." The back button only lead to a blank page.

So now I had to use a free text host to show you it... wala... http://freetexthost.com/lh2dlu0moz

What you are adding is correct.... now, are you adding it in the correct place?
Control panel > Custom HTML & Script > Custom HTML : Footer Area
Make sure you include
$block[boilerplate]
at the top of that script ( it only really matters if you have content added to the footer: Control Panel > Style Tools > Site Wide : Page Footer )

Now make sure you check the "Enable?" box and then Save Changes button

Yep, you got it. I was putting it in the wrong place. I was using the footer from the styles section. Thanks a million. Without you my guild may have gone from taking 4 months to launch to 6.

Just one last question. How do I make it change from displaying the image in the cell on every other post to every post?

LOL ok... well I didn't need to write the script to do that... just use this:
<style type="text/css">
.MessageAuthorInfoCell1 { background: url(IMAGE URL HERE) top center no-repeat; }
</style>
But this will likely over-ride the script I wrote to make ever other message author cell have a different style.

Sorry about the extra work you did. It was late and my post is not exactly clear so I did not really explain what I wanted very well. On the upside, it turned out great.
