Mail Notification v6
by Mottie
Description
This mod opens a popup to notify you if you have a new mail message. It was written for users who wish to hide their top menu bar (state bar/log in bar). Or if you just want a bigger message telling you that you have mail. I've set it up to open either a growl window (timed popup) or a facebox (popup you have to close).
For more information on the custom variables, please see
this post
.
To style the growl window (pictured above), use the "Growl Window Styling" Mod or refer to
this post
.
To style the Facebox popup window, please refer to
this post
.

Signup Status Color v5
by Mottie
Description
This mod will add CSS classes to the character status, so you can set the color yourself with the CSS and the script will do the rest. Within the script, you can set it to just color the Status column or the entire row. This is what it will look like:
*Note: this is an old screenshot, but the code still works

Becoming Adept!
Took me a few days to figure out how to put in a Donation
PayPal
button and get it to go to the
PayPal
site. But I got it to work.
A little confusing but I will try and step you thro it like I did it.
First you need to use a
Free Form Text/HTML
Content box.
Click to Edit.
Open another window and Go to your
PayPal
account and Save a Button picture you like, or use your own. You'll need to use a host to hold your picture, like Photobucket.com, if you don't have the premium paid account from GuildPortal.com.
Next fill out your the PalPal information in the Donation section of
PayPal
.
Click create Button.
You will be using the the HTML code for the
Email
Code.
Back to your
Free Form Text/HTML
Content box page.
In the editing box click on the Image Manager (a little icon up in the tools part).
Add the URL of the image URL location. example: ( http:// my
PayPal
image .com or Photobucket or where ever you have your picture stored).
Click
Insert
over to the right of the code box.
Next, you should see your
PayPal
button in your Editing box.
Now place your mouse curser over you new
PayPal
button and your curser should have a cross thingy over it. Click on your
PayPal
button now. It should highlight your button with lines and little box things around it.
Now, with all that highlighted like that click on the Hyperlink Manager in the tools section (a little icon like a globe and a chain link) and open up a new tool box area.
In the URL section paste your
PayPal
Email Code.
In the Target part scroll and find 'new window, click on that and use that as your target. _blank should appear in the other little box next to it. This will open your
PayPal
link button to
PayPal
in another window.
Click
save
to save this part.
Back in your editing box, you should see your PayPay Button and it should be linked to your
PayPal
location.
Click Save
.
That is it, or at least how I done mine and it works.
You can check mine out at my website.
It is on the left side near bottom.

I hope this works for you all.
Good Luck.

The KEY to this whole process is to make sure that you have the URL link set to OPEN NEW WINDOW, or it will just reload the GuildPortal page!!

I'm making this post to provide the actual HTML that is needed to make the Donate button work. I've been asked about donate buttons, so I'm guessing this thread needs some examples.
Site setup
Create a new "Free Form Text/HTML" content box where you want the button to be placed.
Decide which method you wish to have the paypal window open: New window (with text or image) or a pop-up window. Then copy (Ctrl-C) the code from below and paste (Ctrl-V) it into your content box - make sure you're in HTML mode (
) when you paste it.
New Window (Text Link)
<center>
DONATE TO THE SITE!
<br><a target="_blank" href="
PAYPAL LINK FOR EMAIL
">
DONATE TEXT
</a></center>
New Window (Image Link)
<center>
DONATE TO THE SITE!
<br><a target="_blank" href="
PAYPAL LINK FOR EMAIL
">
<img src="
BUTTON IMAGE URL
">
</a></center>
Pop-up Window
<center>
DONATE TO THE SITE!
<br><input onclick="window.open('
PAYPAL LINK FOR EMAIL
','newwindow','height=
800
,width=
800
,toolbar=yes,menubar=no,scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,location=no,directories=no,status=no')"value="Donate" type="image" src="
BUTTON IMAGE URL
">
</center>
Replace the
blue
text with a description of what the button is going to be used for: "Maintain our web site" or "Donate for ventrilo"... whatever you want.
For the Pop-up Window, edit the height and width size in
purple
(default set to 800 x 800 pixels) if you want to change the size of the pop-up window.
Replace the button image URL in
green
with the link to the button you choose below, or insert the link to a button of your own design. Or if you decided to use the text hyperlink, edit the text in
red
.

Getting Your Paypal Info
Log into your
Paypal

Click on the "Merchant Services" tab
Under Create Buttons, click on "Donate"
Fill in the following (add the appropriate information):
Donations name/service:
Donation ID/number (optional):
Amount:
Currency:
Donor's default country:
Choose a button style:
(
Pick anything
. It won't matter because you've already picked one above)
Button encryption:
NO
Click the "Create Button Now" button at the bottom
Get the code in the "Link for Emails:" box by clicking the "Select All" button below the box, then copying it (Ctrl-C). It should start out something like this:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_donations&business= ..... &charset=UTF%2d8
Paste this link back into your content box, replacing the
orange
text and you're done!
