this looks pretty good, the color scheme seems to work well together, my thought is the news looks good, but put most of that stuff on a seperate page so it can be archived and keep the most recent  info on the webpage.

this is a good page continue to experiment with it so that it becomes what you want.. I am no expert and the admin community has been a tremendous resource.

Your login section at the top and the banner are showing left aligned, but your page is still wide.  If you go to the control panel > Styles & Colors > Page Styles, look under Body Content.  There is a place to specify width (assuming you aren't using custom css).  This is what I used to make sure my page wouldn't be too wide.  For example, my page is set to be 950px wide.  Using that, you can still have everything center aligned, but it will make your page fit on the screen better for those viewing at the lower resolutions.




Eph - I like your page, but I do agree with moosepsc on the background.  Some parts of the text get lost.  Maybe try adding a solid black background to the content containers?  I really like the banner, but my own personal preference is towards ones that aren't as tall.  Overall though, it looks really nice.  I like it




Klandathar - Really nice and clean, something that I really like.  It's simple without a bunch of unneeded stuff which is really nice for people when navigating the site.  I like how you placed the image in the welcome box rather than using it as a banner.  I think it looks much more streamlined that way due to the size of the image.  Good job.

Ok, now I'm curious what ya'll think of my page.  I must preface this by mentioning that the content container borders may not show up in IE, but should be fine in firefox.  They are .png files until I can get the .gif versions to look right.  Also, I'm in the process of adding unique banners for each tab, but they are not all done yet.  The url is in my signature.

I love your banner heading at the top of the page.  You also seem to have the best explanation of DKP that I have seen on a website.  I know that DKP is varied from guild to guild, but your's is very clean (just a side bar).

I am curious how you put the video in your site.  I would love to add some cool images and video, but I dont know where to find them or would I need to create some.

I think your site is great, my only suggestion is that you would save your main page for info on your guild, maybe some stats and such, and create links that would take visitors to the videos and other parts.  The videos are awesome, but take a lot of space on your home page.

Again, I am clearly no expert, but I hope this helps you and thank you for your feedback!

Klandathar - Thanks!  Putting video is pretty easy.  You will need to host your video somewhere like youtube or filefront.  Both will give you code to embed the video into a website.  You simply take that code, make a freeform HTML box on your page where you want the video to show, click the <> in the bottom of the edit screen for that content box, paste your code, and your done.  As for making the videos, all of our videos (excluding the banners), were made by guild members.  Since one of those members is my husband, I will ask him what he uses to edit the videos and post back.  I know he uses fraps to take in-game footage.  On a side note, I can't take credit for the dkp explanation  I helped, but it was mostly the work of our GM.


moosepsc - Thank you! My banner is a simple flash movie that I made using photoshop for the images and adobe after effects for the actual flash movie.  I simply use the banner html area to display it  If you would like more information on using a flash file for a banner, etc, feel free to send me a message.  I don't want to clutter this thread up with code.

Much thanks guys, really appreciate your feedback. I did spend a lot of time on this. I had no previous experience with web design, much time spent searching, studying, and just plain ole messing around to figure it all out.

The text/background thing is something that I noticed at first, but I seemed to just get used to it. None of the members ever said anything so I left it as is. I just really like the background showing through the boxes like it does, and other text colors just don't seem right. One thing I have been wanting to do is fix the background so when you scroll it stays in place. I found a css code to do it but unfortunately it overrides a bunch of the basic control panel settings.

I did originally try to put the banner in the welcome message, but it wouldn't show up. It shows up in the editor, but not the page. I believe something i did in my paint shop is the cause, though I really don't know. Actually I have it uploaded to photobucket, the thumbnail is visible, but when i click the image it comes up blank there too. I had to upload it directly from the banner image section of the control panel.

I am digging all your sites good work, and like everyone else said....... Dealla, your banner ROCKS! I wish I even knew where to start on doing something like that.

Very sharp looking page. i like the banner and the halloween image.. all the page are well done.. they only thing i noticed... and probably not a big deal it too me a few minutes to figure out what game you where in.. once I started looking at the pictures it became clear..

but really well designed page.. easy to use..
