Hi EQ2Ballzz!

Ok I think I got it... I've updated the script above.

Ok, this stopped working again. I noticed something strange, though. The edit boxes go away but as soon as the mouse cursor enters an edit box area on the page the button pops back up. There is also something confusing about the code. The variable where you add the edit button names to be hidden is called "dontHide"? Seems like it should be called "hide" or maybe I'm confused..and that's always a real possibility! lol

Noticed this tonight as well. Guess it's not just me.

Hmmm,

I don't see why it stopped working. Last night a new container was added (each content box is now inside a widget box), so I just updated the code to hide the widget. Hopefully it'll work now.

@EQ2Ballzz. The script was written to hide all edit buttons but the ones you name in the "dontHide" variable. Because you need to keep the some visible - hmmm, now that I think about it, I don't know if that's true anymore. It seems like the gallery has a separate link, the calendar too... maybe the information box? LOL. Whatever the case, you may want to keep an edit button visible to edit it quickly.

I found this @ line 228 on my site (Mottie's @ 204):

<script type="text/javascript">

jQuery(document).ready(function() {

jQuery(".gpWidget").hover(function() {
var admButton = jQuery(this).find(".adminButton");
if (admButton != undefined) {
jQuery(admButton).fadeIn(250);
}
});
});

</script>

I don't know JQuery myself, so not sure if this has anything to do with it or not.

Hey Everdark!

Wow LOL you are correct sir, that is exactly what that script does... it reveals the edit button if it's hidden.

Well, instead of figuring out a way to override this, I've decided to just have the code completely remove the edit button - in the code I changed ".hide()" to ".remove()". This makes the edit buttons disappearing a little more permanent (until you reload the page).
