Now I'm really confused...

For testing purposes, I added the "<div class="spacer"></div>" definitions to the center content container in the custom HTML, then added the ".spacer {height:10px;}" under my definitions to the images in the custom CSS... but all this did was eliminate the ".topbar" image.

Take a look here:

http://www.guildportal.com/Guild.aspx?GuildID=23480&TabID=212389

As you can see, not only did it get rid of the ".topbar" image, but it didn't change the spacing at the bottom of every content box either... any suggestions on how to fix this?

Hey again!

Well it's the difference between the two custom content box HTML... the older one I used "topbar" and the newer one I used "toptile" to match the "bottomtile"... it's hard to go back and re-edit all the old posts =/

Anyway, change that in your CSS as well as removing the background color from your "ContentBoxTitle"
.toptile { background: #000 url(http://aeprops.com/plu/site_files/top_center.jpg)
repeat-x; height:33px; }
.ContentBoxTitle {font-weight: bold;text-align: center;padding-top:
13px;background-color: transparent ;color: #FFFFFF;}
Nice looking borders by the way!

Thanks Mottie, you are awesome!!!

Unfortunately, it still didn't fix the space at the bottom of every content box, which was the whole point of this thread. LOL  Is there something I missed along the way?

Nice looking borders by the way!

Thanks, I tried a dozen other borders before finally just making my own.

It worked for me when I tested it... just increase the height from 10 to 20px and you should see it work.

Yes, the space will increase, but it won't decrease... which is what I wanted. Basically, I was hopeing to get the gutter space between every content box to be even on every page. But I guess that isn't possible, so I'll just go back to the default.

But hey, thanks for trying and I really do appreciate all of your help!

LOL now I'm confused... you could set the spacing to 0px and it should remove any space between the content boxes... maybe I don't know what you mean by gutter space.

Heh, sorry about the terminology, it's an old habit... "gutter space" is a newspaper design term for the distance between columns of text and also the space between two vertical stories on a page.

Anyhoo, I did try setting the ".spacer" height to 0px, but nothing happened. Oh well, no biggie... I'll figure it out one day. LOL

LOL I was scratching my head over why it wouldn't work for you... I see now. It's ONLY Internet Explorer that ignores the spacing.

It's so dumb... the only way to make the space 0px is to hide the spacer in the CSS like this:
.spacer {display:none;}
If you want to add any small height to it, it's based off of the font height. So add this then change the font-size to adjust it... Once you get past a certain font size, it will start using the "height" - this happens around 20px. So, I'd leave in the height variable for other browsers, but only adjust the font-size for IE.
.spacer {font-size:1pt; height:1px;}
*NOTE: 1 pt does not equal to 1 px.

Wow, that's messed up! LOL  Leave it to Microsoft to over complicate an already somewhat unforgiving computer language... way to go Bill!!!

Honestly Mottie, I don't know where you come up with this stuff, because I would have never figured that one out in a million years, so thanks bunches! I'll play around with it and see if I can get something to my liking.

I cant get either of those .spacers to work on my site. In FF or IE.
